Was listening to a fantastic Youtube/Podacast with Jordan Peterson and Victor Davis Hanson on the Downfall of the Ivy Leagues and elite colleges. Lots of great discussion and information but one thing hit home for me as I have a son that is a very bright HS Sophomore that we visited Stanford and he absolutely loved it though he knows even with a great resume it's a reach. The campus is amazing and being in the heart of Silicon Valley and seeing everyone biking just hooked him along with being an elite Engineering school. I just didn't realize just how difficult they have now made it for those of us that are melanin challenged.

Hanson said that Stanford had made changes years ago to have admissions reflect the composition of the country which meant 12% Black students and 65% White for instance. However post George Floyd they have drastically shifted those numbers. For the coming year they are planning a class that is 23% White with 54% of that being Female. So between Legacy and Athletics admission there is virtually no chance for a Middle Class White Male to gain admission. He also said that to accomplish this they have leaned in heavy on not requiring the SAT and bragged about how they DENIED 70% of students who had a perfect 1600 SAT score. Complete insanity.

They of course talked about the consequences of this and how this is already devaluing the degrees from elite schools but it is going to accelerate rapidly. The reason those degrees have been so valued was because of their selectivity but now they have moved almost completely away from merit as the primary driver of admissions. They also spoke about Asian admissions and the issues there but really the larger bias is toward Middle Class White Males. They have also eliminated all merit based scholarships so you if you have low income you essentially go for free, if you are a rich legacy you just write the check, and if you are middle class you pay $80k per year.

It just sickens me as a Dad and makes me torn as to whether or not to tell my son just how much harder it will be for him purely because of his skin color. In the end my son will be fine and he loves A&M as well and is looking at other schools and he is smart and hard working. Anyone that pushes this "white supremacy" and "white privilege" crap though can kiss my ass as this is outright racism.

Gonna teach my sons to write a story about how they discovered they were "gay" on their college admissions form.
And about how they were so afraid to come out blah blah blah...but now that they have found a school so accepting it has given them the courge to brave coming out of the closet.

Tell them no social media in HS so no way for their admissions officer to accuse them of lying.

Then when they get in and start attending they will magically discover that they were straight because u can identify as whatever u want.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your children, when raised right, will overcome all obstacles placed before them - whether natural or imposed by some agenda.

In fact, having to work harder to overcome those obstacles will make your boys stronger and more likely to be successful long term.

Or, get a Native American membership card from Elizabeth Warren.

All the "elites" have moved to this same model of intentionally making it almost impossible for white middle class students to attend. They want rich, connected legacies to fund them and diversity to put on the brochure. YT middle class does nothing for them in their eyes

Tempting but no, screw them. I have more NA blood in me than Elizabeth Warren too but I just find the whole thing incredibly offensive and disgusting to value someone's skin color above all.

Who cares what people believe. Check the damn box. If you can have a peni$ and a beard and check the box for female, kids with white skin can check whatever box they want.

Kids and adults are already doing it now. It's the main reason behind the increase in LGBTQ+isms. People will claim a crutch when their is a real or perceived benefit. See disability scams over the last 30+ years.

Now LGBTQ+ is like a disability that produces opportunities and funds like a slot machine.

Someone referenced social media above and their kids shouldn't have it for admissions reasons. Parents should consider this too. Don't give any info that could be used against you or your kids. I have a very Mexican friend who is hard core conservative (call him Hispanic and he might punch you, he says his family is from Mexico, therefore he's Mexican).

His FB could keep his son out of some schools because my friend posts his views for all to see. I'm not saying it has happened, but it will eventually to some kids.

Dropping the SAT requirement was 100% for the sake of DEI and eliminated the most objective measurement tool of intelligence that could be used for admissions. College admissions departments should assign a number to every application and remove the name. Let the chips fall where they may. A&M lost my $6,000/yr donation thanks to their new woke policies

Time for La Bamba's Look on the Brightside segment.

Instead of bemoaning about the fact that your kid likely won't get into a West Coast engineering school, have your straight white male future engineering student consider the following:

Is he into Asian liberal chicks? If yes, then play the game as best you can and consider UT Austin as a backup.

Now if the answer is no, I can confidently say, as an Engineering grad myself a little over a decade ago, Texas A&M offers the best combination of a great education, great work opportunities after school and great choices for a hot non-engineering partner for the long term. You will not find the same partner opportunities at Stanford, Georgia Tech, the Northeast school (good lord throw up face), or the Midwest.

And my friend, for a boy of 18-22, that's a strong motivator.

A he'll be okay
B life's not fair
C Stanford can be token university
D make sure sons faith is good. Many of these elite level universities are brainwashing these kids into becoming socialist atheistic weirdos

Stanford isn't an exception

I have a great friend he's very bright, my roommate in college. Because if dad got access to I banking with top 5 firm. He's done great and extremely talented and diesnt hurt he was in ppa vs these ivy league liberal arts but for many it's more oif where you went and who you know that gets you access.

As he gets richer he gets more elitest and godless.

Remember the most important thing, faith. Make sure children have it.

God opens doors and shuts them.

Don't fret over academic bragging.

The indoctrination of our students is horrendous but at the end of the day companies need kids that can perform.

Exactly. But its not just 8 Ivy League schools and a few comparable private institutions like Stanford or MIT. Many state universities are doing the exact same thing. Texas is about 65%+ white (much more depending upon how many "white Hispanics" you want to include) while the entering freshman classes at UT have been averaging less than 30% white. Further, a huge percentage of the whites that ARE admitted to Ivies are Jewish liberals (Over 70% of incoming Harvard freshmen self identified as "very liberal" in an article published by Harvard a year or two back).

This is a coordinated effort to prevent whites, especially males and definitely conservative whites, from getting into most of the highly competitive colleges in America. This is the reason why SAT scores are being abandoned by so many admissions departments. Those scores highlight the active discrimination against whites that is going on across the country.

We've had to completely change the type of college we are looking at thanks to this open, anti-white academic pogrom that is only gaining speed over time. Basically you have Hillsdale as the new Ivy for conservative kids. That's why every Facebook post Hillsdale makes is eventually filled with deranged, hateful leftist comments slinging around terms like Nazi, KKK, etc. Then you have a few state schools like A&M, Auburn & Clemson that are, SO FAR, admitting classes that look more like they were based on somewhat impartial measures of academic readiness. After that you have a certain group of Christian universities that aren't on the heretical woke train (yet). Really, the only college I trust not to eventually cave to the woke masses is Hillsdale. That's great unless you have a kid who wants to go into engineering. I don't know of any good engineering schools that aren't likely to slide down the slippery woke slope over the next decade.

Benny and I have had serious discussions about starting dual credit, if possible, in 9th grade. To maybe be a sophomore in college by the time he graduates and then try for MU, A&M, UT Dallas, etc. So not too much money is spent and he can take 3 years to double major in those computer classes to code games and create things for something like Pixar.

I have a nerdy white boy.

Son, white male, Junior

Will be Valedictorian at 5A school and will be National Merit Semifinalist with a chance for Finalist next Fall through the process

Should have every opportunity to go to any school he wants in the country and not pay a dime. He realizes that will not happen. He knows the Hispanic girls behind him in the rankings and with far lower test scores will get more scholarship money than him. It drives him to dominate more, of that I'm proud.

He is going to go Mays Honors and Accounting PPO to get a Big 4 Assurance gig.

If A&M were smart, they would specifically recruit the highest ranked White Males in every big school high school class. They are going to get ZERO scholarships dollars at any school. A&M could grab a couple hundred of them and the odds of ten of those boys hitting the rich button after school is extremely high.

I started HS in Connecticut and was all AP courses that had we remained there until I graduated, my senior year would have placed me out of three semesters of Ivy League schools. Tremendous savings and that was the plan I was on.

Plans...meh...life, didn't happen that way. Dad was transferred back to Texas but it was very late into the school year, April. Different structure between junior and high school. As I was a hybrid student, went HS in the morning and JHS afternoons for 6 weeks.

Long story shorter, I started A&M two years later as a sophomore, at 17. Then I had graduated A&M before I was 20.

Sometimes I really wish I had been on the regular schedule and more with students my age instead of them being a few years older. Being in a rush to be an "adult" is not always preferred for everyone. One thinks they can handle it but then life happens and one is not really prepared for twists. (Think Dustin Hoffman being completely clueless in The Graduate as what to do now that he graduated. I went to work for a law firm to see if I really wanted to go to law school. That was extremely low paying but I was doing it for gaining maturity and experience. I was stil only 23 when I graduated law school.)

I am not trying to give advice to you nor heaven forbid, Benny. But since I did it and regret it, just passing it along.

And yes, tell Benny that "that lawyer chick" had done that same thing and wishes him all of the best in his future endeavors.
