Most officers I know would have nothing to do with any behaviors like that. A few terrible human beings don't define an an entire category of people that happen to share their occupation.

Absolutely. That's why Ashley Babbitt gets protested and has been treated as a martyr by the MSM. Or now Rosanne Boyland who we were told was killed by a drug overdose when video of her getting beaten on the ground by a cop with a stick has been released. They quickly cremated the body though so I'm sure it was all good.

Strange how white women killed by cops by black cops doesn't seem to be a story.

Our country is f-ing stupid beyond redemption. Something like 75MM police-civilian interactions every year. A vastly disproportionately amount likely involving black males, as they consistently commit a vastly disproportionate amount of petty and violent crime. And very very few incidents overall. So few that something like this is such a big story.

I'm not a boot licker, I realize there are bad apples and there is even departmental corruption in some cases…but based on the stats…police should probably be praised TBH. With that many annual interactions, you'd expect to see bloodshed on a regular basis in our daily lives if it were half as bad as the easily brainwashed liberal lemmings claimed it was.

National conversation, while needed, is impossible given one side can't entertain the thought of data (science) being used to shape reform. Social media ensures it can only be an emotional outcome.

I don't even know what national conversation needs to be had. Cops were much more brutal overall in the 1990's, 1980's, 1970's, 1950's, the 1800's, during the Roman Empire etc etc. We were never Mayberry and never have been. Let's quit pretending there is some crazy unrealistic bar that will ever be reached.

Bad cops should be punished according to their crimes no doubt. But until we have AI robots, there will always be bad apples. And honestly, the AI bots may learn very quickly to profile certain racial groups above others.

This is fact. I joined the police in the mid 1990s so all of my trainers and leadership were 80s cops. Cops were far more aggressive back then. The difference? Two things. (1) Cameras are now everywhere, and (2) the cops back then were very very good at limiting violence to the target populations. Back then, regular people were still treating the police with respect. Once it came to light that the police were using aggressive tactics to maintain control of the inner city, white liberals began their demonization campaigns. Now the police have a siege mentality and see basically everyone as the opposition and no longer allies.

Since I represent the police a lot as part of my legal practice, I speak with current officers weekly.

This is my take.

Ineffective at best and used as a political hammer at worst. I just can't ever see this as being acceptable . It would be the equivalent of the Nazi SS.

As some of the posters above have noted, part of the BLM communist movement is to turn the population against the police and move toward a police force controlled, party if not fully, by the federal government.

For the communists to get their wish in America, there must be a strong movement away from state and local control toward federal government control. Socialism and communism can never succeed in this country so long as the state and local governments maintain so much control.

The police are doing a better job of turning the population against the police than the commies are.
