OK. What did McCarthy, in this example, do that people didn't like?

And don't assume some screeching MSM reporter = "half the country (or more)".

I'm referring to him saying he'll only answer questions he feels like answering.

Telling reporters, "You get what you get."

But the press DOES get to determine if he's answered a question. He may decide not to answer it, but that doesn't mean it's answered.

He's not admonishing press behavior, here. He's simply announcing that he'll only cooperate with the press when he feels like it.

His supporters will like that. His non-supporters won't. But this smells like dodging accountability.

Should someone with close intimate relations with a Chinese spy be on the intel committee? Yes or no.

I'm assuming you didn't listen to the whole thing before you decided to make a snarky post. If you had, you would have realized he DID do something.

He stopped Schiff and Swalwell from serving on intelligence committees.
has this actually happened though?

that is his intent, but I am hearing now there may be enough lame GOP pols who vote to keep the three of them on the committees because of "fairness"

or at least keeping that anti-semite Ilhan Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee. because we definitely need more leftist somalis on our main defense committees.

I believe he has the authority as Speaker to block them from Intel which he's doing. Keeping Omar off of Foreign Affairs will unfortunately require a vote.

That is the most coherent, concise, articulate statement from a Republican Speaker in a long time. Maybe since Gingrich. Glad McCarthy is sticking to his word.

Could not read your first sentence without it sounding like the Judge from My Cousin Vinny. Yes I'm juvenile…..
All it needed was a "motion denied" at the end. RIP Herman Munster.

If you listened to the whole video, he said they could serve on committees………… but not intelligence committees. He can block them if he wants.

the socialists squeal like stuck pigs when their own actions come back on them. Idiots. Blocking Swalwell and Schiff from intel has a LOT more basis in reality than the Reps Pelosi blocked in the last congress.

FAFO, socialists, just like when you changed the rules on judges.

If people like McCarthy (or virtually any politician) would stop doing things that about half the country (or more) doesn't like, they wouldn't have to dodge the questions they get from the media about them.
The problem with this is that it doesn't matter what he says or does. The left would oppose anything from him even if his actions generally agreed with their worldview. They oppose for the sake of opposition and scoring political points. Him sticking to the generally accepted views and beliefs of republicans/conservatives or based on facts brought forward by the intelligence community in this case is not dodging questions; its doing his damn job.

What are you talking about? What was he dodging? The lady's question was going on and on, and when he tried to answer she started rattling again. He was just trying to end her talking so he could answer. And he gave a respectful answer. That reporter had already decided she wasn't going to accept his answer.

Good comeback, but to be fair, politicians usually don't answer direct questions and the reporter should press them until they do.

But that's how it should work, right? People answer questions asked, and by default, that's the answer.

Isn't it weird for the person asking the question to tell someone I don't like you're answer, give me another one Isn't it the job of the journalist to follow up on the answers by investigating to see if it's true or not?

If the subject doesn't answer, shouldn't the journalist dig or come up with another angle?

Seems like this is standard Q&A.

Dodging accountability is not resigning from the committee when you were ****ing a chinese spy
Dodging accountability is the press not asking the previous house speaker why those two *******s were on the committee after repeatedly lying to the american public, and oh yeah, ****ing a chinese spy.
Dodging accountability is not one democrat leader forcing these two anti-american *******s to resign.
Dodging accountability is Nancy Pelosi getting a security briefing telling her how much Swallwell was compromised and doing nothing about it

You don;'t know jack **** about dodging accountability
