You'd have to learn by experience. I'd suggest letting someone else do the experiencing and you just do the learning by watching. Might be better, could be worse due to excess weight.

That was great! Thanks! The Hubs loved it.

Excuse me? Would you prefer to rephrase that perhaps?

Let someone else buy an EV truck and get stuck in the mud or not. EVs weigh more than gas/diesel trucks. Use what you've got until the alternative is determined to be better.

Basically don't be the guinea pig.

EVs have aspects that would help in that situation, they have aspects that would hurt. Can't say if it would be any better or worse.

Son. you implied I was overweight with how you phrased it.

But to the content, I have observed many a towing/stuck situation on SPI and other situations. Been a driver trying to get them out.

Pretty sure you would never help a stranded motorist, ever. Not what you do, ever.

I absolutely did not. I wouldn't know the first thing about your weight. I don't know a damn thing about you other than you grew up watching racing, you don't know a damn thing about me other than I think EVs are a promising technology for the future.

Don't make it personal.

There's four quadrants of opinion here, so lots of opinions.

Pro company pro stock
Pro company anti stock -> me.
Anti company pro stock
Anti company anti stock

Men who do not know how to change a tire will not stop to help someone change a tire.

I'm not insecure enough to care about your opinion. You're too insecure to not read an insult into a place where it didn't exist.

Roll back the conversation, you asked whether an EV is worse in the mud or not, I said I don't know they're heavier and that can be an asset or a detriment, let someone else figure it out. You got into nutty insecurities or PTSD from other people being a dick to you on here, then called me a ****ty person, and now can't admit that you misinterpreted it. That's not my problem.

Changing a tire is about one step beyond knowing how to screw in a light bulb, it's not the barrier of competency that you apparently think it is.

We can go on another tangent with a product that former Tesla and Rivian engineers are working on to help EV and ICE trucks with their range while towing a travel trailer: the self-propelled Lightship L1

https://lightshiprv.com/journal/introducing-the-lightship-l1

Spoiler alert: It is expensive

You think that's expensive, just think about how the recreational boaters are going to get ****ed.

Can across this as we plan a UK vacay this summer.

Its from about a year ago but is a gentleman in the UK testing out Tesla's automated driving function.

It points to some of the remaining technical challenges in a fully self-driving vehicle. I still contend that though you may ultimately find a technical solution, this type of demonstration is going to give stomach troubles to lawyers on both sides - whether sick with worry or hungry with greed.

But what I think is simply my perspective, others may have a different take.

Test was done by a man named Dan O'Dowd who is invested in a competitor technology and during his test he purposefully overrides the FSD software by pressing the accelerator to the floor.

What's going to be great are the guys that figure out how to cover cars and other items with laser absorbing / reflecting materials to confuse the computers.

What happens on a Tesla if a gravel truck passes you and dust / gravel fly off the truck confusing the sensors and taking out the sensors. Does the car swerve, stop, keep going? I have yet to see a computer that can process at the speed it requires to observe and react. Most humans are capable of successfully navigating incredibly complex inputs in essentially real time.

Valid criticism. Which is why it's still only a driver assistance system. That however was an accident resultant from their autopilot software rather than FSD software.

I mean… that's not so much an indictment on the stock itself as it's an indictment on your timing. That's not meant as a jab at your investing prowess. You simply had bad timing on that one, when analyzed on 3-22-23. Hopefully it's a long-term-hold for you.

I started buying in Feb 2020, and it's been highly profitable for me.

LOLWUT. Literally the advantage computers have over humans is the speed at which they can process and respond to information. It's Thousands of times faster than any human for the most basic of "computers".

The hypothetical you're describing isn't a speed issue. The neural nets just aren't there yet to have a response to every possible scenario, but they're growing exponentially.

There's a reason that 0.500 seconds is considered a perfect reaction time in drag racing. It's because humans have really slow reaction times.

Sorry, didn't realize this was all solved. What cities / counties have fully automated self-driving cars and why are people driven cars not immediately banned because of their total inferiority?

If anything obstructs the autopilot cameras an alarm sounds and instructs the driver to take over.

Friend got a Mach E and says its driver assist is very advanced. Maybe not Tesla level, but he says others are catching up, he was impressed.

That's probably the smartest line of code in the whole car then.
