The V-10's and V-12's sounded a LOT better. Went to Monaco last year which was awesome but the howl of those old engines was better.
Had to do with everything back in the day. Endurance.Quote:
What the **** does 24 motor sports have to do with the consumer vehicle market?

Heavens, you don;t know much about car history, nor racing.GAC06 said:
A Model S has four doors and isn't a POS Camaro.
Racing is about as relevant as when you switched to 18 wheelers on your "I'll never own an EV" thread
So you have proven that EV's without a change of batteries can win endurance races of 24 hours?GAC06 said:
Read the thread before saying ignorant things, ma'am

Sorry if I missed that. Because I haven't even seen where an EV passenger car can do that at regular speed.

Not too much a fan of the DRS, the designated hitter rule of F1.

Ralph Schumacher drove his circa 2000 BMW F1 car around the A1ring last year with slicks and the engine turned way down, and he set competitive lap times.
When you said I was an idiot for being a woman and asking whether Tesla or any other EV manufacturer has won an endurance race?GAC06 said:aggiehawg said:So you have proven that EV's without a change of batteries can win endurance races of 24 hours?GAC06 said:

You were an attorney? Did I ever claim that? What on earth are you talking about?

Politics have hurt the sport. Passing has improved even if somewhat contrived with DRS. Eliminating fuel stops has improved safety but drastically changed strategy. I still watch but I miss the old sound.

Understand I am an Ol' Dame but I have gone around a racing block or two. I know how car companies competed against each other in race car driving and how that played into their design and ad campaigns.
I am sure you do not even have one freakin' clue who Carroll Shelby was and why he had a Ford Mustang named after him.
Don't fuss with me. Not when it comes to car racing history before you were even alive but I was alive and watched those races.
It is bizarre that you attack me with those as well.Quote:
It's strange you go on these bizarre strawman arguments.

Full movie. And yes I saw it when it first came out in the theaters. Dad took me and my brother.
You know, she can respond to individual posts in this thread and not just the OP, right? Or do you not allow that?GAC06 said:
Please provide examples of me attacking you with strawman arguments, counselor.
The title of this thread is "Tesla is finished". Please support how endurance racing supports whatever argument you think you're making.
Well, then you know she's allowed to respond to any post on here and it doesn't have to ONLY address the subject of the OP. She did that. Go back and read her posts...GAC06 said:

Honestly, your aversion to logic and rhetoric combined with your history with MFBarnes makes me wonder if you aren't his sock.
Groundbreaking for the day. Watching in a theater with Panoramic view for a kid? Was mind blowing.Quote:
The camera setup they used in that movie was fascinating. It was basically mounted on the back of a modified 24 hour race car and the front wheels of the open wheel car were removed and it was towed by the 24 hour car
Ignore him. He likes to just attack people. It's his schtick.aggiehawg said:Okay. That's enough. I am allowed to respond to your post attacking me.GAC06 said:

I don't flag people usually but you are getting close.
Name one endurance race EVs have won against ICE vehicles where the playing field is level for both.GAC06 said:

And for GAC06, this relates to Teslag's post about racing the Tesla and how fast it goes...aggiehawg said:Name one endurance race EVs have won against ICE vehicles where the playing field is level for both.GAC06 said:

Start with LeMans.
Appreciate the post. Solid, and unemotional, did not come across as a fanboy.smitshot said:
Let's get back to the subject. Tesla is the best stock driving experience out there for under 55k. The best way I can describe it is like driving an agile silent fighter jet on the ground. No maintenance, no gas, 500k miles if you want to keep it that long and minimal depreciation. Bought my model 3 dual motor FSD 4 years ago for 55k and could sell it now for 47k. That's like leasing it for $150 per month over 4 years. The gas savings alone makes it nearly free.
Anyone that thinks you have to be rich to own a Tesla is just ignorant.
Go drive one. You'll then have to buy one. It's like cutting the cable cord. Once you do it, you'll wonder what took you so long. No longer tethered to gas stations or Saturday morning oil changes. I can't even imagine going back to an ICE car. I also wouldn't trust any other EV maker over the next 5-7 years. Tesla will dominate not only the world wide auto market over the next decade but also the power storage and charging infrastructure.
Tesla is like Toyota, Chevron, Apple and Boston Scientific all rolled up into one company. Everyone is looking for that next Amazon, Google or Microsoft and it's right in front of our faces in the very early stages.

Formula 1. Red Bull Racing. And it's a V6 with electric hybrid drive.
Most people can't afford that $55K to start with...maybe they don''t have to be rich but they've got to be better than the average auto buyer.smitshot said:
