There's nothing more convenient than your vehicle being fully "fueled up" and ready to go every single morning.
I could keep 3 five-gallon gas cans in my office for under $75 and achieve the same thing with the same effort.
Going to be awesome to have nothing but EVs if China or other thugs pop an EMP.
Bruh, we aren't talking about emergency rations here. We're talking about infrastructure and convenience. There's nothing more convenient than charging every night at my house, and there's no ICE equivalent to that convenience.
What about the millions that live in apartments? Or the millions that don't park in their garage?
I know that about 90% of the people on my street now park in their driveways. When I lived in Weatherford for 19 years, we parked in our driveway which was about 50 feet from our house.
Or the idiots who will forget to charge their EV every night? People forget to charge their phones all the time (my GF always has it at some stupid low level). They forget to get gas when they KNOW they need to.
Until the infrastructure is there to deal with these contingencies, EVs will have issues with the general public.
Most people are not like the EV operators here on TA. Assuming that everyone is responsible like you is incorrect. They aren't.
I don't have a problem with EVs as a concept. I'm and engineer and I love cool tech *****
I don't like government intervention pushing them and giving them subsidies, though. Or even worse...mandating them.
How does the government think people who buy $2000 cars from a Tote The Note place are going to be able to afford an EV where the cheapest Tesla is $45K?
