It is insane to me that half his customer base is allegedly pissed off because he opened up Twitter to a more fair treatment of everyone.

That's crazy

I like Musk and hope he is successful. I do believe the EV market is going to get hit hard. Used EVs in Florida are being sold at huge discounts over original purchase. ICEs are holding on. Why would anybody want to buy a used EV? A huge risk. Spare parts and especially the battery life. Infrastructure is another variable.

And another: catching the ghey. Have to factor that in.

No, that's fascism according to the person who started this thread. Who BTW, still won't explain how that's fascism.

200% growth in 3 years is rapid growth. Musk owned nearly 20% of Tesla. The market cap fell from 1.2T to a low of 340B. That's 170B loss, plus roughly 30B in losses from Twitter reduction.

I'm not a Musk hater, I'm just saying that there's a 200B opportunity in Twitter is non-sense.
It didn't have that much to do with Twitter. Hell, stock market has sucked for lots of large tech companies...

I agree the 200% growth was rapid - in fact, it looks speculative. Looks like a bunch of profit taking occurred recently.

He exposed extremely unethical if not illegal behavior of the politicians his most of his customer base supports. He's a patriot and anyone upset with that is a scum bag. Liberals have to be the most pathetic people on earth. They know their ideas can not win without propaganda and censorship, sad.

EV used market is going back to normal. ICE is as well.

Trump was a fascist too according a lot of posters but they could never explain why.

The fact that Free Speech is now a "right wing ideology" says more about the left than it does the right.

I remembered the leftist talking point echo'd in this thread already this year when I read this morning that the Model Y was the single highest selling vehicle in Europe in November, despite the manufacturing/ramp up challenges Tesla has/does face, and Tesla itself being 'finished.'

I guess all those far right-wing Europeans who support censorship of speech online don't mind what Elon has done with Tesla/Twitter, or something. Oh wait, the analyses/data here is that they'd have sold even more all year but for China/supply challenges, but growth is ahead:

Quote:

According to data from Automotive News Europe, Tesla delivered nearly 20,000 Model Y vehicles in Europe last month:
Quote:

Tesla sold 19,144 units of the premium midsize SUV, a gain of more than 260 percent on the same month last year. It was a big rebound for the electric model after it fell out of the top 50 in October, just one month after finishing as Europe's overall top-seller.
December is expected to be an even bigger month based on early data coming in. For example, Tesla has already delivered 5,000 Model Y vehicles in Norway alone in December.

The Model Y's rise in popularity in Europe coincides with Tesla ramping-up Model Y production at Gigafactory Berlin.

The automaker recently confirmed that the factory is now producing 3,000 Model Y vehicles per week. All those vehicles are for the European market, and Tesla also ships cars from Gigafactory Shanghai to Europe.
Meanwhile, factoring in stocks and bonds, the worst year for the market since 1871.

Let's go Brandon!

Tesla had a little bit of a rebound last week but lost it all today. Currently down 13.5% today alone to $106.30. I'm definitely not on the "Tesla is finished" position, but believe it will be a $75 stock by April.

Tesla, which is of course finished, just announced another new plant in Indonesia and throwing another $775 million at the new Austin plant to expand it.

I do believe that is the largest pending auto mfg expansion/investment ongoing in Texas this year. Weird. Some even think the stock will rebound. I dunno how soon/about that, but whatever, it hardly appears 'finished.'

Tesla, the US king of luxury sales:

Quote:

Tesla didn't just beat BMW. It put on a Georgia vs. TCU in the College Football Playoff Championship drubbing of its rival. Tesla sold 158,612 more vehicles than BMW did in 2022, according to Automotive News's Research & Data Center. It's a big come up from being down 23,244 vehicles to BMW in 2021.

So, all in all, Tesla sold an estimated 491,000 vehicles in 2022. That was followed by BMW at 332,388 vehicles. After that was Mercedes-Benz with 286,764 vehicles, Lexus with 285,704 vehicles, Audi with 186,875 vehicles, Cadillac with 134,726 vehicles, Acura with 102,306, and rounding out the top eight was Volvo with 102,038 vehicles sold.

Overall, luxury vehicle sales dipped in 2022, and the broader market also declined about eight percent, according to the outlet.

That 491,000 vehicles sold by Tesla represents a 44 percent increase in sales over the year before. AutoNews also reports that the automaker crossed 1 million deliveries globally.
That company clearly sucks and is finished because its African-American CEO/founder isn't left wing enough.

They're using rocket science on cars, damn right their good!

They're also still not environmentally friendly, their just putting all the carbon production up-front and out of the way.

I wouldn't say that EVs are world changers in terms of emissions, but they do surpass combustion vehicles during their useful life when utilizing the energy mix of the U.S. grid. Takes a couple of years.

"Green" is not why they'll replace combustion vehicles. Cost and convenience for the vast majority of driving will be why. The inconvenient types of driving will be fixed over the next 10-15 years.

Shanghai expansion.
Texas expansion
Suggestion of Berlin expansion
Indonesia factory
Mexico factory
Full ramp of their mega pack factory in California capable of producing 10,000 mega packs annually.

Tesla stock isn't going anywhere and if they prove continued growth and signal strong confidence with new factory announcements they're going to go back up. Especially if they can demonstrate improved margins/production with a Model 3 revision rumored for early this year (gigacasting manufacturing).

Anyone that thought they were "finished" with 20 billion in cash is pretty stupid.

Who said EV's would not become a growing market share, when?

What is 'green' about lithium ion/battery electric vehicles?

That Austin Tesla plant sure must use a lot of petroleum products, and natural gas/nuclear-sourced electricity. The battery plant in Nevada uses something like 1,000 giga watt hours per year, I've read. They couldn't procure enough electricity short term in Germany so they had to table for now the expansion there until the krauts have their energy disaster more under control hopefully in the coming years.

I'm glad the free-speech supporting CEO's company is now supported more broadly again by communists, despite his refusal to support Schiff/CCP/FBI censorship.

Define green energy.

While you are at it, for the African children mining cobalt, define the concept of a 'job'.

Take it up with automotive news. Daimler and bmw seem to think they are a direct competitor tho too. They build something a lot of people do value tho, as both a status symbol and vehicle, that's unarguable.

Elon derangement syndrome is real. This thread shows it clearly.

The tech and performance push them into luxury territory, similar to a BMW. I've had BMW's for years before my Tesla and the interiors were never much to write home about.

First reported on Tuesday by the Austin Business Journal, the filings indicate Tesla plans to invest $717 million in the site to add around 1.4 million square feet of space.

Hybrids are way more convenient and make way more sense than EV's...especially if it's not about being Green. I can get gas in 5-minutes and still have extended range, low end torque, speed, on-board generator and fun driving experience with a hybrid.

Let's be honest. EV's produce a boat load of emissions just to make them, so nothing about them is "Net Zero". Biggest lie of all.

And what will eventually stall the growth of EV & maybe hybrids is the used vehicle market. Nobody wants to buy and EV or Hybrid with over 75,000 miles on it. Way too risky. I'd by a ICE V8 with 100,000 miles on it and get it to 200,000.

I currently own a hybrid and and ICE. I also know when I go to sell my hybrid at 120,000 miles is it won't hold much value. But I just wanted to buy a hybrid. I can tell you when I sell it I will be going back to ICE only vehicles.
