It is insane to me that half his customer base is allegedly pissed off because he opened up Twitter to a more fair treatment of everyone.
That's crazy

I like Musk and hope he is successful. I do believe the EV market is going to get hit hard. Used EVs in Florida are being sold at huge discounts over original purchase. ICEs are holding on. Why would anybody want to buy a used EV? A huge risk. Spare parts and especially the battery life. Infrastructure is another variable.
No, that's fascism according to the person who started this thread. Who BTW, still won't explain how that's fascism.Agthatbuilds said:

It didn't have that much to do with Twitter. Hell, stock market has sucked for lots of large tech companies...hph6203 said:
200% growth in 3 years is rapid growth. Musk owned nearly 20% of Tesla. The market cap fell from 1.2T to a low of 340B. That's 170B loss, plus roughly 30B in losses from Twitter reduction.
I'm not a Musk hater, I'm just saying that there's a 200B opportunity in Twitter is non-sense.

Trump was a fascist too according a lot of posters but they could never explain why.Hubert J. Farnsworth said:
Please explain how Elon has turned towards fascism. A number of people on this thread would love to hear your reasoning for why you say that.

Meanwhile, factoring in stocks and bonds, the worst year for the market since 1871.Quote:
According to data from Automotive News Europe, Tesla delivered nearly 20,000 Model Y vehicles in Europe last month:December is expected to be an even bigger month based on early data coming in. For example, Tesla has already delivered 5,000 Model Y vehicles in Norway alone in December.Quote:
Tesla sold 19,144 units of the premium midsize SUV, a gain of more than 260 percent on the same month last year. It was a big rebound for the electric model after it fell out of the top 50 in October, just one month after finishing as Europe's overall top-seller.
The Model Y's rise in popularity in Europe coincides with Tesla ramping-up Model Y production at Gigafactory Berlin.
The automaker recently confirmed that the factory is now producing 3,000 Model Y vehicles per week. All those vehicles are for the European market, and Tesla also ships cars from Gigafactory Shanghai to Europe.
That company clearly sucks and is finished because its African-American CEO/founder isn't left wing enough.Quote:
Tesla didn't just beat BMW. It put on a Georgia vs. TCU in the College Football Playoff Championship drubbing of its rival. Tesla sold 158,612 more vehicles than BMW did in 2022, according to Automotive News's Research & Data Center. It's a big come up from being down 23,244 vehicles to BMW in 2021.
So, all in all, Tesla sold an estimated 491,000 vehicles in 2022. That was followed by BMW at 332,388 vehicles. After that was Mercedes-Benz with 286,764 vehicles, Lexus with 285,704 vehicles, Audi with 186,875 vehicles, Cadillac with 134,726 vehicles, Acura with 102,306, and rounding out the top eight was Volvo with 102,038 vehicles sold.
Overall, luxury vehicle sales dipped in 2022, and the broader market also declined about eight percent, according to the outlet.
That 491,000 vehicles sold by Tesla represents a 44 percent increase in sales over the year before. AutoNews also reports that the automaker crossed 1 million deliveries globally.

I had my first ride in a Tesla yesterday. Model 3. Uber. Pretty darn nice. EVs have great low end torque and acceleration. From a performance perspective, I'm interested.

Tesla, which is of course finished, just announced another new plant in Indonesia and throwing another $775 million at the new Austin plant to expand it.
I do believe that is the largest pending auto mfg expansion/investment ongoing in Texas this year. Weird. Some even think the stock will rebound. I dunno how soon/about that, but whatever, it hardly appears 'finished.'
How many 'green jobs' have been created in America vs non-green jobs lost because of environmentalist insanity?Bubblez said:

Texas expansion
Suggestion of Berlin expansion
Indonesia factory
Mexico factory
Full ramp of their mega pack factory in California capable of producing 10,000 mega packs annually.
Tesla stock isn't going anywhere and if they prove continued growth and signal strong confidence with new factory announcements they're going to go back up. Especially if they can demonstrate improved margins/production with a Model 3 revision rumored for early this year (gigacasting manufacturing).
Anyone that thought they were "finished" with 20 billion in cash is pretty stupid.

I didn't know Teslas were luxury cars? I sat in one at a showroom, it reminded me of a vw beetle inside, except it had a iPad on the dash. The exterior design doesn't look luxury either.

"Finished", but expanding in Texas, Mexico and ChiComland.Quote:
Tesla is planning major upgrades for its plant in Austin, Texas, according to filings made with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration in January.
First reported on Tuesday by the Austin Business Journal, the filings indicate Tesla plans to invest $717 million in the site to add around 1.4 million square feet of space.
