Tanya has always had my respect for her strong convictions and fortitude to put up with the razzing she gets for her opinions, but I usually felt like some of the poking was warranted as such is the nature of online banter.
I am willing to bet a good chunk of money that I am not the only conservative libertarian on this board who is completely shocked at just how much sense Tanya has been making the last few years. She is now one of my top favorite posters. What a bizarre and wonderful thing to watch unfold.

And yet it is still, today, the 8th most valuable company in the world. I'm not even a fan of their cars/EV's in general as some here know, but I respect that they have built...something a lot of people highly value.
I still think it's overvalued but I am not an investing/stock expert by any means. 2 months ago it was (about) equal to the SPY loss on the year, and realistically much of it this quarter seems to have been driven by their Chinese production/pricing/issues, which would seem to me unrelated to his twitter stuff.
Toyota, at around $200 billion, is it's nearest competitor by valuation, I think. This is a weird/pathetic way to try to 'burn' Elon fans, really.

Whatever one may think of Elon and his new conservative politics, it is an extremely questionable move to become a public spokesperson for right wing ideology while running an electric car and solar panel company. Liberals were probably 75% of his customers (at least) and he has completed lost them. I predict Tesla stock price will continue to plummet as Elon is clearly distracted and prioritizing Twitter.

Yes, Elon should move operations here, and then with some states in time detach and form a free enterprise zone. Especially with the EV being pushed by everybody it will be an important acquistion.
On a more serious note, this is probably a temporary downturn. EVs are experimental enough -- only very pro-Left are going to want to hastily desert Teslas given the testing and name recognition that has developed for the brand. Its bad enough the Left Democrats are trying to ruin ICE car industry, going with untested brands, or the Gov Motors brand will be just as objectionable for the center and right.
It will probably balance out.
I wonder how this effects Bill Gayes trying to short Tesla? Is it to his benefit?
