Jalen Rose, not exactly a towering intellect, is wanting to cancel Mt Rushmore. Sick of this crap.

Quote:

ESPN's Jalen Rose is challenging people to stop using the term "Mount Rushmore."
The term is normally used when naming the four greatest in a certain category.
The term derives from Mount Rushmore National Memorial, built on Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, which depicts former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

Rose wants to cancel the term because the monument was built "on top of dead bodies" of Native Americans whose land was taken from them.
When does this ridiculous crap stop? First it's canceling the term, then what? Close the park, demolish the monument?

When do these idiots (Rose) realize they are most divisive ones among us? Morons with a microphone and big sports audience.

Is not celebrating those responsible for thousands of deaths and murders be a better alternative? Especially I. The context of Rose's specific comments. If they are responsible for the death and murders of thousands of innocent humans for their own personal gain or whatever reason really it's not that hard to not adore them.

F-em. I don't care. Nobody has a monopoly on freedom and moral righteousness. If the Lakota Souix want Mt Rushmore back, they can muster and army and try to take it and then see how that works out. Otherwise, they can pound sand for all I care.

Since you username implies some hope for actual truth, car to support this wildly ridiculous statement?

The native folk, who are not "native" to North America had spent years in primitive warring tribes with no sense of laws and justice, certainly no protection of minority rights before evil white man show up and tell them trade furs for clean water, permanent shelter and guns vs arrows.

These tribes accepted this at first but then decided they did not like the new rules and caused chaos in new civilization, so they had to be handled. For their atrocities they receive unending government handouts and casino permits.

As pointed out earlier, if the Lakota wants that piece of dirt you earn it the old fashioned way. You don't get to go tie a bunch of socks to a tree and all it your ancient burial grounds.

Indian "leadership" suffers from the same leftist elitist principals that are killing this Country across the board.

First, we must demolish the Big House and Crisler Center.

We acknowledge that the land the City of Ann Arbor occupies is the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Anishinaabeg (including Odawa, Ojibwe andBoodewadomi) and Wyandot peoples. We further acknowledge that our City stands, like almost all property in the United States, on lands obtained, generally in unconscionable ways, from indigenous peoples. The taking of this land was formalized by the Treaty of Detroit in 1807.

Notre Dame sits on land that was taken from the same tribes. They then were forced marched to Kansas and then Oklahoma.

But didn't the British, French and Spanish take it, then the American separatist took it from them?

And no Indian was force marched. They were offered an option of asylum and relocation. You see, it can all be a matter of semantics and perspective.

The indigenous folk have well overplayed their hand. Enough is enough.

What's the point here. None of this makes sense unless you are renouncing war as a means of growth and survival.

I don't think the Right is doing that. Does the Left want to? What's the aim?

Most of the American mainland was annexed one way or another rather than bought. Is the Left wanting to renounce that, and if so, why? Their enemies would not. No one in history would, so the gesture would be kind of pointless.

But is this what they are doing?

Biden called conservatives Neanderthals, which I take to mean the DNC supports MAGA as the most indigenous of all peoples meaning all land belongs to MAGA, and the leader of MAGA - the Great Ultra MAGA King.

Who is indigenous and giving them original claim to land is a slippery, poorly defined slope. Well beyond the understandings of some ball dribbler named Jalen.
