this might be a victory for conservatives, but this will be the rally cry for the Dems/Media for the next 6 months. No talk about economy and all the other sh*t wrong in this country.

It will be "Republicans took away your right to abortion, now they are coming for gay marriage, right to vote if your a minority . . " etc etc

There are a lot of women who are conservative or moderate that this is a hot button issue and they will lean towards the Dems when it comes time to vote.

Winning this battle will right now will greatly hurt the war come November. my two cents.

This won't matter a bit come November as there are no signs that the economy will improve by then.

Abortion is such an entrenched issue that it is not going to change votes as much as you think it will.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Will change nothing. The ****ty economy (which is going to get way worse between then and now), and that effects many more people than this. In the absence of cheating, its going to be a bloodbath in November.

ETA: There is no need to discuss the economy. Even the media cannot cover it up because people actually witness / feel / experience daily.

Abortion is less of an issue to voters than you think. Plus, saving millions of lives is worth it, no?

Democrats talking about abortion, while running the economy into the ditch, isn't going to help them with swing voters.

Forget even abortion itself... This ruling is the beginning of the restoration of the sovereignty of the States. This is only a bad thing for federalists that somehow don't look at the behemoth of a federal government we have now as a dangerous thing.

Abortion can be legal in all 50 states if pro-abortion activists can make compelling enough arguments for it in each state. That's how it should be.

This is an objectively good thing on multiple fronts.

I 100% agree. (Separate / Independent thought from my next).

Secondly, the price of gas affects way more people than whether or not there's federal protection in place for baby murder. I think any idea that this moves the needle significantly is greatly overblown.

This will motivate Republicans too, OP. Now that the people have a say in abortion, pro-lifers will have a stronger incentive to vote.

With inflation as high as it his, two cents really doesn't mean much

We shouldn't concede everything to the liberals in an effort win elections. Otherwise what would be the point of winning elections. We may as well let them stay perpetually in power. Some issues are worth fighting for. THIS issue is definitely one of them.

I wrote this elsewhere, but this SHOULD be an energizing point for Republican politicians. Run unapologeticly on conservatism. Bring up Biden/Harris/Pelosi. Tell the poor and middle class that you feel their pain at the pump and you will be OG friendly. Vow to cost costs and fight inflation. Say you will put qualified people into positions to make a difference and not just check a demographical box.

The left wing has given Republicans a lot of ammo. They should not waste it nor should they feel doom and gloom over today's Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade. Instead it should be viewed as an opportunity and a springboard for more.

Abortion doesn't touch every single person every single day. It's only an important issue to certain people. Plus this doesn't outlaw abortion. Just pushes it back to the will of the people at the state level. And guess what, those state elected officials against abortion won overwhelmingly in the areas they should and those that support baby killing won where they should.

But you know what people notice every single day? Inflation, rising food costs, rising energy costs, depletion of their retirement accounts. All of those are squarely on Prez Poopy Pants and the GOP should hammer that each and every single day from now until November. If they stay in point with what matters, it will be a red tsunami.

I know many dissagree with the OP because of the message, but it is true that the concerned moderates could swing back due to RvW.

I think the media is going to full-court press this and never let up. I think this is the "Midterm BLM" kickoff party.

Then maybe they will pull their heads out of their vaginas and realize this is a STATE issue now. They can focus on state reps and senators.

Come November, when people are paying $6-$8 a gallon for gas so they can drive to stores with empty shelves, this day will not move the needle.

Hell, with these gas prices, even the mules may be stuffing GOP.

You don't need to talk about the economy when you just need to open your wallet and look at prices.

People won't forget they are paying out the ass for everything. They'll remember it every time they fill up or buy food.

Even if this decision came out in October, the dems are still going to get obliterated in November.

Roe is a political football, but mostly for those who can afford to go skiing in Colorado after they get their abortion done. For the rest that it may affect, putting food on the table and gas in their tank is a bigger issue, and for that they'll either stay home or vote R.

This changed nothing.

In a few days or weeks most people are going to realize that this ruling doesn't really affect them. In Blue states you can get an abortion. In red states it was already extremely difficult to get an abortion anyways. Nothing changed

On the other hand, the economy will still be bad in November. People are going see and remember that.
