This is true. The transparency of the ledger is what make this technology not a safe heaven for illicit activity.
The situation we have here is a government is controlling only the on and off ramps for BTC via online exchanges and the banks(which they have always controlled and restricted their access to their accounts).
There are avenues to circumvent the online exchanges with BTC. There are zero ways to free your cash in a bank.
Many on this board make statements regarding BTC from a skeptics standpoint which is understandable and everyone is searching for it's flaw without first doing the appropriate research themself to understand the technology and how it truly works or buy a few sats and experiment.
We seem to lose sight of the real problem.....the monetary system we have known and participated in since birth is based on absolute government and central bank control. This gives power to the few and in the wrong hands (Canada in this instance), they can impose tyrannical restrictions to force compliance to anything they choose. If you do not believe this to be the case and you think banks and government are fair and act in the best interest of the people in all situations, then understanding the benefits of BTC and how it solves many issues with the current monetary system will be extremely challenging.......I know because I used to be a skeptic myself
Thank you sir. Seriously. Thank you.
Yes, we that don't fully understand crypto and block chain ARE looking for holes or flaws in it BECAUSE if we can find those holes, the ass holes in government can too.
Case in point, Trudeau can't stop bitcoin from being sent to you, but he can stop you from turning it into cash and taking it out of your bank. Your counter to this was "you can buy gift cards etc". OK cool. That works. Until Trudeau gets wise and tells Canadian retailers that it's illegal to do that, as well.
Then you counter with "Ok, get your gift cards from Europe or Asia and have them mailed to you."
And Trudeau counters with a mandate making that illegal as well..... wire fraud or mail fraud, he'd call it.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
And the cats like being talked to.
