Dang. That' a legitimate post for sure. I also think the post you quoted are both correct. I don't see any stop to the country moving farther and farther left. It's been going on since at least the 60s. It's really scary for the younger generations. I probably won't be around to see us go off the cliff but I think it will happen not so long after I pass.

Hope you showed restraint. But as a man whose paternal grandfather died as a prisoner in the Nashville Federal Penitentiary, I would have found it extremely difficult to hear someone, let alone my child, tell me I was a beneficiary of "white privilege."

Very few people in this nation are born to money, an automatic route to a high-paying job, and a comfortable retirement at the community of their choice. You've earned what you got and no leftist should tell you otherwise based on some social theory meant to continue a plantation-era racial divide that is no longer a reality for anyone except the racist/racialist Democrat Party.

Man that sucks. It's like losing a kid to a cult. My kids are in college now. I hope they avoid the same fate.

You can hope that when she gets a real job, pays taxes, etc. that she would turn it around on her own.

Another thought would be better for most not the send their kids to college to get them endocrinated. Also, where did you send her and what degree? If you say liberal arts then shame on you. I'd rather my daughter go to itt. almost rather you live and let them start at work and then to go to college and be lib arts

Hopefully she will come around. My sister went to college left of center, but not crazy leftists. She turned hard left during school to the point she was actively confrontational to my father and I because our chemical and oil and gas companies are evil and killing the planet, and crapping on my conservative mom over women's lib policies. My parents stayed calm but firm on responding to her. I on the other hand wouldn't take it and fired back.

My father's best move was wait until we went back to my grandparents' home, and told her the story of where we came from. A story of how my grandfather's family moved every couple of years during the depression because they owned nothing, and were kicked off their rent farms because other families could pay more rent. How that grandfather dropped out of high school, and joined the army to fight the nazis, had half his leg blown off, then came home to just barely get by with my grandmother, uncle, and father. How my father and uncle grew up in a four room house, but was stressed by my high school dropout grandfather to work at school, get the best grades, and graduate. How every winter, my dad would go to school, leave school to go shovel ice and snow off the roofs of the boat docks 10 feet above an ice cold lake with no safety harnesses. When my father went to college, my grandparents took the brunt to make sure tuition, room, and board were paid for so he could make the grades. All of that led him to the job he has, and if that was privledge, he wished no one else would have to go through it.

Since then and now she is working on her own, she has moved back to center of left, and no longer exalts the leftists talking points.

I feel at this point with college age kids they need to be taught to be conservative apologists. In the same vain as a Christian apologist. There needs to be coaching so they are equipped with answers to conservative objections. When they're challenged in college, hopefully they will have been prepared how to reasonably respond and have enough strength to not change their convictions.
I also don't think parents should be paying for college if their child's major is one that doesn't lead to a career. This is hard to do, but if you send your kiddo to college and they major in "blank studies" they're going to come back brainwashed to a certain extent.

This. As long as their parents stop coddling them and, at some point, they are forced to make their own way in the world, experience will change the views of about 90% of them. Not all of them will end up conservative, but they will look back at their youthful activism as just that--something young folks do.

Each generation makes life easier for the next. Right or wrong it just happens. Hopefully good parenting, morals, ethics and a good work ethic is instilled enough so that the next generation grows up to contribute to society in a meaningful way.

I have found that once one starts paying taxes they move back to more rational thought (ie move back to center). Having a baby usually completes that transition.

Then the cycle starts again.

Yep. Pretty simple. My kids know that they will get zero help from my wife and I if they go the liberal arts route, and the second I hear any white privilege/brain-washed bullshat they are cut off. Pretty simple. Some people need to learn the hard way unfortunately.

My daughter is going to be 17 this year and certainly does not fall in this category. We talk all the time about politics, how it works, agendas, optics etc...
It's a parents job to shape their child into an adult by giving them the information needed so they can function logically.
