This is for extra sick days they started doing for Covid. Shocker… employees were abusing it and ended up "getting Covid multiple times."

Now, only the clean (vaccinated) are eligible for additional freebie days off.

I'm all for them getting rid of additional days off for a cold, but it needs to be applied to everyone equally if they keep it. Not picking winners and losers.

It makes sense. Why would you extend this benefit to someone who doesn't bother to even care or try to avoid covid? Remember covid is the disease, not the infection.

This is additional Covid specific sick days that are being granted based on vaccination status.

This does make sense. Why extend this benefit to someone who isn't willing to take the simple measure of getting a safe, effective free vaccine?

Now do fats/smokers/gerbils - sure, if there was a safe, effective, free vaccine for those conditions, I'd say they're equivalent. They obviously are not.

Slacker bums are going to find a way to be slacker bums and fake sick days. You either let actual sick people stay home no matter how they got Ill along with the fakers, or you pressure them to go to work while symptomatic and spread it around to coworkers just to force the slacker bums to come in and find ways to not work at the job site.

Vaccination of not, everyone is getting and spreading CoVID now. The idiotic delusion that vaccination policy will suppress spread needs to be thrown out so effective and coherent illness management policies can be used.

It's my understanding these are additional sick days just for covid, not the base sick days the employees would normally accrue. So if the county is taking on the additional expense to provide this unearned benefit, the employee should at the very least do their part to avoid needing them.

Exactly. This is basically a company offering a 401k match and the employee wanting the match but refusing to have any pay of their own deducted.

The vaccine for being fat is watching what you eat and exercising. The vaccine for smoking is not smoking.

Both of those have significantly lower risks than the Covid vaccines. If it's all about what is safe, effective, and free then wouldn't it make more sense to deny benefits to fats, smokers, and drinkers?

You really don't have a clue do you? Tons of people test when exposed. Certain companies and government entities will test people for contact tracing up to 7 days after exposure.

Incoherent reasoning.

Are the days off extra vacation days? No! They are an as needed accommodation to allow I'll employees to stay away from healthy ones without suffering an undue burden. Sick days are intended to keep the workplace functional without driving off employees or encouraging them to work while ill and concealing it.

if you remove them from the people somewhat more likely to become ill, you pressure them to come in while ill, which is the opposite of the intended purpose.

And their information regarding the efficacy of vaccination is obviously months behind. It is a stupid and ideologically spiteful policy.

It makes zero sense.

The vaccine does not prevent anyone from getting Covid.

The vaccine does not prevent the spread of Covid.

If infected, the quarantine time is the same whether you are vaccinated or not.

I know this will come as a complete shocker, but politicians and Covidians alike are extremely stupid people(as is proven on this very thread).

The message that this sends to those that have not yet been vaccinated is that if you GET the shot, you will need additional sick time. If you do NOT get the shot, then you won't need that extra sick time.

In essence, they are advertising that the vaccine will make you sick!
