This is exactly what we hoped the virus would eventually morph into: Something that spreads fast but is milder, less deadly. Expose the population and get some immune familiarity. One of the things that has really pissed me off about this pandemic is how so many people lose sight of what the goal should be, which is reducing hospitalization and death. This asinine focus on "cases" is the driver of so much of what's wrong with how we've handled it.
Delta was legitimately worrisome as it spread faster than the early strains without reducing risk of severe symptoms.
This one, at least based on early reports, may actually be a good change.
Time to put director of CDC on camera and tell her to cry and and say she's very frightened. Then tell Biden to call for a "Dark Winter." Then spend 100s of millions of tax dollars on a vax campaign, including rap songs (10% for big guy). Sound familiar? New Step 4: implement vax mandates for domestic flights and subsidize airlines with tax dollars. Kill commerce.
