It continues to amaze me that the Red States like Florida and Texas have been fully open for months with low numbers. We are not dying by the thousands every day down here. Yet, it is like the results in the open states are completely ignored and not part of the discussion.

I'm an anecdote and this is likely association bias from the people I work with. I think new California lockdowns would probably be the coup de grace for Newsom in the recall election that he would otherwise squeak out. So maybe a net benefit?

Not really a whole lot to unpack. First guy is saying there does not appear to be a correlation between vaccination acceptance and case numbers. Second guy says that drop in case rates was precipitous before vaccination rates even reached double digit percentages so that is highly unlikely to be the reason for previous drop.

Not going to happen.

The feds cannot shut down a state, and few if any Republican governors are going to do it again. Hell, some of them never did it the first time.
