Fox News:

Quote:

Former president Donald Trump will claim he is the leader of the Republican party and its "presumptive 2024 nominee" when he makes his first public appearance since leaving office during the Conservative Political Action Conference next weekend in Orlando, according to a report.

A longtime Trump adviser told Axios his CPAC speech will be a "show of force," and said the message will be: "I may not have Twitter or the Oval Office, but I'm still in charge." The source reportedly added that "payback is his chief obsession."

Trump's advisers will reportedly meet with him at Mar-a-Lago this week to plan his next political moves, and to set up the framework for kingmaking in the 2022 midterm elections.

According to Axios, Trump is expected to go after the 10 House Republicans who voted to convict him in his impeachment trial, spurred by the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, and the seven GOP Senators who voted with Democrats to convict.
Quote:

Trump has found support from state Republican officials who censured some members of Congress who voted against him. Meanwhile, his leadership PAC, Save America, has $75 million on hand to help set up primary challenges to sitting Republicans who went against him, as well as a database of tens of millions of names.

Despite his comparative silence since the inauguration, there's no doubt Trump still has a stranglehold on the Republican Party. With him stripped of his biggest platform will that influence hold long enough to mount a significant attack on anti-Trump Republicans into 2022 and 2024? Will he ultimately win the fight for the GOP's soul?

That's a long way off. A lot can change in 4 years unless you are a Democrat. Then. It's the same old recycled crap*.

Hey if the GOP wants to run Trump again in 2024 and lose for the second time in a row then fine, go right ahead.

If they're so thrilled, why are they going to such great lengths to try to prevent him from running in '24? The mid-terms will tell us a lot, and I'm going to predict people will be tired of the BS by then, and there will be a lot of buyers remorse with Biden voters.

I really don't know why people think he won't run in 2024... I've already posted links where he said he was running..

Like it or not he will be on that primary ticket, and he's gonna win the primary... RINOS can keep wishing for something different to happen, but it won't..

There are a lot of Republicans/conservatives/libertarians, other than RINOs, that while thankful for the good he did, are ready to move on from Trump and the baggage he brings to the table.

Although I don't think he runs again, after four years of the Biden and likely Harris crapshow, America might be begging for the regulatory and foreign policy sanity and pre-COVID economy of Donald Trump.

i'd expect that if we truly do manage to vaccinate ourselves out of the pandemic that will earn biden a considerable amount of goodwill, even if he's not the one directly responsible for it. covid was the #1 issue for voters in 2020 iirc. not to mention he's being predictably coddled by the media.

Excellent! President Trump got our troops out of areas and conflicts we shouldn't have been in while brokering peace deals all over the world. He put the screws to China and was bringing jobs back to America. He helped catapult the US economy to heights it had never seen before with his pro-capatalist economic policies.

But for those who want socialism to take over the world he was the biggest threat so they spread lie after lie about him that brought on two failed impeachments.

Rino's are more than happy he is gone because now they can get back to letting the democrats run the show while they collect their checks.

There are hundreds of ways Trump could continue to build a legacy and have a positive impact.

If this is true, its not an example of one of them. Its the opposite of helpful.

Progressives will win more and more ground with this Trump bull in a China shop strategy.

But im not really convinced this story is true.

At least for now, those people won't see the light of day as long as Trump takes up all the oxygen in the room. He's got the GOP held hostage.

I liked the line that payback is his chief obsession.
It's always been up there with self-promotion, but it's good to see that it's on his mind.

Republicans deserve this nonsense. They had a chance to completely cut out this cancer, but instead, let it ride.

The man failed as a President. Presidency, control of congress...all gone in 4 years. Even faster than Obama.

And yet, some of you all still think he is your savior. He will lose again.

Trump is the best president in a generation, and widely more popular than you indicate. They would destroy the republican party if they tried to cut Trump out.
