I will agree that he has done the worst since Nixon. Joe Biden could have been easily dispatched but Trump could not shut up. He lost the election himself.

Please let us know how W did better for the country...this should be interesting
W won 2 terms.

The question was regarding how Trump affected the support for the Republican Party.

Read better.

So, because W won twice he was better for the party? Do you not see that Trump has changed the party forever going forward in a positive way (Latinos, blacks, etc)?

And...don't chastise someone for being pedantic earlier if you're going to tell me to "read better", dumbass

Trump lost Georgia to the Dems. GEORGIA!

The Dems have won the presidential election in Georgia 3 times since 1964.
Republicans controlled House seats in Georgia since '04 and the senate seats since '02.

Don't throw out comments equating people making honest commentary to being part of a communist regime. Give respect, you get respect.

This.
I don't care about what politicians say .
I care about what they do.

Trump was nails on most of his policies (Economy, ISIS, BLM, China, Russia, Iran, Illegal Immigration, Covid, and of course - supreme court justices who will follow the law and constitution)

I think the "moderate" republicans (read that as democrats) after Reagan, specifically GHWB and GWB were instrumental in the rise of people like John McCain, Mitt Romney, and other saboteurs to weaken the conservative cause. There is where the blame lies.

Trump and the folks associated with the Capitol riot are politically radioactive at this point. He will be heavily investigated as a green light from the last few weeks, fallout will be immense. Cut ties and move on, no good can come from being associated with him at this point.

Read a newspaper, businesses no longer want anything to do with Trump, the social media forums for his extreme followers are being pushed to the dark recesses of the internet, Republicans are openly condemning him, money is being turned off.

What more can define being a political pariah at this point? And when you are a political pariah, away goes your advocates, protections, and care about what happens in your future.

Ripple Effect. Obama was the major cause to the divide in this country that set back race relations decades. His presidency and his administration cause Trump to run because he was tired of it, as Trump stated in debates and previous interviews. Trump won his first term, but the damage was done. The left fascists grew bold from their "give an inch, take a mile" experiment. They kept testing (and keep testing) their boundaries and see what they can get away with. The right are full of people with things to lose, such as families, jobs, and their own freedom. The left know this, so their true opposition is not to be currently feared. So, the left's domestic terrorists began rioting and destroying things with their "free pass" that the media and Obama years had given them. Once these businesses saw that domestic terrorism actually works, they are now all scared. They know that the left will come after them without consequences. Big tech, ANTIFA, BLM, media, etc. This is a powerful force. Add that onto the overwhelming evidence (anyone with common sense can see it, unless you choose not to) of the election being stolen all add up to the current situation.

Interesting you say this. I think Trumps lack of character has exposed the lack of character among the political elite more than anyone in any of our lifetimes.

Washington is very sick culture. It was when i worked there 20 years ago and its only gotten worse since then.

In the end, we are to blame for the culture in DC as it by and large represents us, self centered and treats people like garbage. Not sure why we would think the idiots we elect wound act differently.

No damage. He has exposed RINOs and changed what we all want and demand.

Trump is THE quintessential RINO. He was a registered Democrat for God's sake. Trump is a populist. He couldn't care less about republican principles. But his populist, America first rhetoric rang true a bunch of blue dog democrats who were abandoned by 0 and then Hilldawg. They put Trump over the top. This time around, many tired of him even though the Dems are going further left.

Interesting conundrum. If Biden /Harris do the damage I expect in the next couple of years the mid terms should be a blood bath for the Dems. Will the Repubs return to their core values and will the Trumpkins splinter the vote?

This is the dumbest $#!+ I've ever heard. I'm a hardcore libertarian and I hate the GOP. I did not vote for Trump the first time and I swore I would never vote GOP again after John Boehner and Paul Ryan killed the Tea Party. Trump ended up governing significantly better than I thought he would. I still don't like him, but he is probably the best President the US has had since Reagan and probably in the top 5 in the last 120 years. Damage to the GOP? He is probably one of five Republicans who are worth a damn.

Do you really think blue dogs abandoned him or MIBs allowed massive ballot harvesting and encouraged the lazy vote on the Democrat side. The numbers would suggest the latter.

again with the lack of critical thinking. do you know what the Acronym RINO actually stands for?

Ronnie Reagan was a democrat before switching parties - does that make him a RINO? NO you look at the policies that they put forth.

The list of Trump's policies that he got passed would not classify him as a republican in name only.

Trump brought the party back to the right and to the core values (as much as possible)

as far as midterms go - the Rs could be split, but that won't be a trump thing, that will depend on whether R senators decide to split the party or not.

Populist means representing the people rather than having a political elite.

Too bad all of our "representatives" are not populists, because that is their purpose in a "representative" democracy.
