Doug Mastriano just announced on War Room that the state legislature will be holding a joint session to take back electoral powers from the Governor.

What does that mean? The PA Gov no longer has authorization to appoint electors?

It's the first step to appoint republican electors if the courts don't throw out illegal votes. There's about 3-5 simple to understand discrepancies where they think they are justified in doing so. A few being:

- The ballot dump where Biden got 600,000 votes and Trump only got 3,200
- Eye witness testimony where ballots where open and counted in a hidden room
- Eye witness testimony of a mysterious man putting USBs into the voting machines (this one could be a misunderstanding, but no one has come forward with an explanation 3 weeks after)
- Eye witness testimony, confirmed in court, of not being able see the actual ballots as they were counted in a huge convection center
- Poll watchers denied access to polling locations

There's a lot more but I think the biggest one right now is 600,000 to 3,200 dump.

Sigh.

Ok, so one guy says these thumb drives gave Biden "thousands of votes", but the only evidence, the thumb drives, are missing.

Do people not realize how ridiculous this sounds?

This is half a step up from "this guy I know, he knows a guy that was out camping and saw Bigfoot. He was actually attacked by him! Took his beef jerky. Guy almost died! And have you priced beef jerky lately? Seriously!"

Things don't always make obvious sense, and the truth isn't "out there".

Doesnt sound ridiculous at all given the numerous discrepancies with this election. Biden getting more support than Obama is every bit as ridiculous.

If the county can't provide the usb drives that have the votes on them, then the votes should not count.

How can the courts throw out things that the campaign refuses to argue in front of them?

The guy who reported on witnessing the USB drives is a Naval intelligence officer. The story has been picked up now by Fox News, which in this election cycle means quite a bit as they've been very dismissive of Tump's claims thus far.

They also presented evidence in a hearing on Wednesday that over a short period of time in PA, Biden received over 600,000 votes to Trump's 3,500.

None of this makes any sense. To your point, this would be like trained observers seeing Bigfoot, strange fur being found on a tree exactly where they said it would be, and everyone refusing to run it through a DNA test. No reason not to look further into it. It won't hurt anything. But there's been a refusal.

The campaign doesn't need to win in courts if it can get state legislatures to go along. That seems to be the plan.

Yea, but couple it with the election USB drives that were stolen prior to the election. That part makes no sense.

The thumb drives didn't supply the votes. they enabled remote hackers to do that.

To circle back to the real subject of this thread, what can the PA General Assembly do and can they overrule a veto from the governor? Or if not, does the Governor even have a say?

I could argue that one either way. Under Article II Section One Clause 2, the governor/ Sec of State only has a say in appointing electors if the state legislature says they do.

Conversely, amending the process post election seems to rely on some dicta from Rehnquist's concurring opinion in Bush v. Gore. So I am not sure one can say it is a settled matter.

How and when Trump or Biden received votes makes basically no difference within this context unless you have actual hard evidence that something happens. All that says is that something possibly out of the ordinary might have occurred. It honestly isn't even evidence that something unusual actually happened, only that it might have happened.

To get to "something funny happened" you would have to go back and look at previous elections to see how vote tallies came in and at what rate, etc.(i.e. gather evidence to support the claim/assumption). And even then you would just be able to show something unusual happened. Just because something unusual happened doesn't mean that something nefarious happened. Again, you have would to investigate where those votes came from, who cast them, etc. to gather evidence that something nefarious happened.

The bar for changing votes and/or elections is (and has to be) a little higher than "hey, that sure is funny".

And while I appreciate that the gentleman is a Naval Intelligence Officer and I appreciate his service, nutballs come in all shapes and sizes. I'm not saying he is one, but the simple fact of his employment is not sufficient to rule out him being one.

Finally, the court doesn't do investigations. Law enforcement does investigations. It would be a very dangerous thing indeed for the courts to interpose themselves as un-appointed election monitors whose curiosity must be satisfied for an election/votes to be official.

PA GOP doesn't have a veto-proof majority. This won't go anywhere.

Even if they did there is zero chance all Republican representatives vote for this farce after the lashing they got in the 3rd Circuit today.

This will have no effect on the slate of presidential electors; that slate has already been certified and sent to the archivist. This is just political masturbation.

Besides a potential civil suite for slandering Dominion I'm wondering if there's any criminal liability for telling outrageous lies about massive election fraud, in public, but not in a courtroom.

Yep. Custody chain and document retention are serious deals in an election.

We're supposed to take the word of dirty Dems that there were no shenanigans but don't worry that we destroyed all documents and evidence that our count is totally legit

If there was such criminal law, essentially every Democrat elected official would be in prison and also all of CNN, MSNBC, the big 3 networks and most of Fox. Also, every lib and concerned moderate on this board would need to join them. You good with that? I mean, the lie of Russian Collusion and all is more outrageous and unsubstantiated than what is showing to be clearly evidenced, widespread voter fraud.

My understanding is they have two USBs but 47 are missing. With those two they will corroborate the claim.

Given the discrepancies in mail in votes sent out versus received 700k more cast then sent out plus amount of votes cast over the total of actual registered voters it actually makes a lot of sense, but; alas no real evidence.
