Not necessarily taxes, but if he pays child support it would be close to 65% easily.

Child support might be the biggest injustice against the American family today. In many ways it's likely encouraged the abortion culture and thus genocide we're seeing in the black community.

Socialism in nordic country works better than it would here because they have a very homogenous society.

That's not to say there's no diversity at all. But they dont vs. US.

If you pay all the taxes you listed you're very deep in debt if they add up to 65% of your income. You are in control of the large majority of those taxes you listed. Don't buy a $600K home, don't smoke, don't drink. don't buy a luxury gas guzzler, don't buy a yacht, don't buy a motor home, jewelry, use an ATM, fly, stay in a hotel etc. You didn't pay tax in the first place on your IRA contribution and won't pay if you roll it over into another qualified plan. neither did you on your health savings account ( might be wrong on that). How many building and zoning permits have you purchased? In your lifetime? Do you have a professional license? Own a business? The large majority of your property tax goes to support your local school district. How would you propose to fund that endeavor differently. Maybe you're not a resident of TX but you don't need a permit to own a firearm. You do need one to carry a concealed handgun. New car surcharge ??? I'm not saying our politicians have never run out of ideas to get more of our money but certain "consumption" taxes are well within your control as to if, when, what and how much you pay.

It's depressing how many Americans think our immigration policies are strict and terrible, yet refuse to compare how accommodating we really are compared to the policies of other countries, including Australia and the Nordic countries they finger bang themselves over all the time.

It might be a hot take, but am I wrong?

It allows women to leverage themselves against men, ultimately ruining the dynamic of a relationship; it lessens the appeal of marriage for singles, yet does nothing for the appetite for relationships/sex; it makes men less driven to work, because they only keep a small percentage of their income; children don't need money, they need male figures/married parents; not all child support money goes to the actual child, a portion goes to the givernment.

On the whole it makes children be seen as a penalty, not a prize. That's a problem.

Yep. This doesn't affect the wealthy so much. That's why it won't change. The married church goer just thinks divorced men with children are getting what they deserve. That is until they go through it. Sad.

You have income tax and property tax. Basically all of those other sales and usage taxes top out at you income unless you spend far more than you earn. Living in Texas I could see 40% or maybe 50% tops. If you're that high you should be considering some tax management.

There is this Swedish movie on Netflix with this right wing terrorists killing the societal Marxist elite children on an island. Pretty pathetic social engineering and protection propaganda.

The marxists adopted the philosopher king typology from Plato's Republic. It's very elitist and discriminatory.

Many like me have a mental handicap and just see the injustice in it.

Social democracy is different than democratic socialism.

Sweden is capitalist still.

You only get to vote for true socialism once.

Independent of the ethical issues of socialism, the population of ALL the Baltic states combined is only about 27M: Sweden 10.4M + Finland 5.5M + Norway 5.4M + Denmark 5.8M. For comparison, the NYC metro area has 20M people, so it alone is twice the size of the largest Baltic country.

They've got their system and they seem to be happy with it, but it's a freaking joke to think that we could scale it up to a country the size of ours (330M, or 30-60x the size of theirs) without exponential increases in waste and inefficiency, and significant decreases in overall quality.

Sweden has a political system that ensures the populous are sheep. The social pressure to conform is beyond the pale, especially among the older Swedes. Taxation and rules force everyone into line. This makes it hilarious that they are destroying their own country with "good" Muslim immigration and THEY THINK IT IS GREAT. Muslim immigrants who will never assimilate, never work, always agitate, protest and destroy. Read the stories of all the Swedish ladies that are afraid to walk their own streets, especially after night. Their government's answer - cover your head if you absolutely have to go out. Already there are large enclaves and even entire cities like Malmo where the police cannot go for fear of their lives. Sweden has become number one in the history of stupid and their form of government made it all possible..

People on Texags politics say some outrageous things. But anytime someone brings up how great other countries are I remember this simple idea: every country (with maybe China and India as very recent exceptions) on the planet is sovereign because of the good graces and benevolence of the American people.

Every white, smug, socialist country is our vassal. But we're so nice that we don't even make them pay us. The power gap between us and them is so large that we could either kill, enslave, or exile them all just take all their natural resources, land, and manufacturing goods and distribute it to our people to make the greatest debtless welfare state of all time. And we could probably do it in 45 minutes.

I'm tired of hearing from these people. Maybe if they improve their native population birthrates they might matter one day. Until then they need to STFU and go sit a the kids table with South America. World Powers have some business to attend to.
