You're taking the manufactured hysteria from an obvious hit piece seriously. Were you actually at South Padre watching the launch? The explosion was about 50 km away. Are there pictures of these broken windows? Something tells me there wouldn't be as many "broken windows" if Elon hadn't bought Twitter.
I have only read about 1 legit broken window and I believe it was in SPI at a business. The guy said it would cost about $300 to replace.
And that was certainly from the launch, not the flight termination explosion.
And this manufactured hysteria about the coating of sand grime is dumb too.
We got a coat of wet sand on our car as we drove away like 5 minutes after the FTS (the sand was from the massive bloom of launch dust) and it magically blew away on it's own after it dried off on our windshield.
The whole process was maybe a minute. It was there and then it was gone. And it wasn't so thick that I couldn't see fine.
So yes, headline news: SAND FALLS FROM THE SKY NEAR THE BEACH.
It's dumb.
And BTW - SpaceX will mitigate that with the water cooled steel pad for the next launch. And if that isn't sufficient they will try something else.
