When we moved to the Norf Side of Houston we went to the Dunkin in the neighborhood...once. We all thought it was terrible. No fresh or hot donuts to be found. We apologized to Shipley's for straying.RED AG 98 said:
BR is still pretty good but there isn't much ice cream I don't like. This Dunkin is just horrible.

Bad news: cancel culture is stupid, and we need to get rid of it. Hopefully, if the right starts using it effectively with more and more companies, the whole strategy will just go away. I'm glad that comics are generally spending a good chunk of their bit making fun of cancel culture.

RIP the old James' Coney Island. And I don't mean the lame-ass JCI grill. The original James' right off of Memorial Drive. That location had the best ham and American on rye, with mustard and pickles. One of the few things that could over-ride buying an original coney.
Yeah, I can see the difference. Agree that the latter is way worse.FDT92 said:BusterAg said:

Boycott does not equal cancel culture. A boycott is passive. Cancel culture is aggressive.
One says "I don't agree with you". The other says "I will destroy your life".
I remember going to the original JCI Town & Country when it was close to Memorial Drive back when I was in high school. The building near City Centre where it moved years ago is completely gone now.annie88 said:The one on 290 is still good. Bellaire isnt.lurker76 said:

Can't believe they closed the one at Beltway/I-10 and Bering/Westheimer.

I haven't been to one of those since I moved out of Houston, but I still always liked them. I'm not a huge ice cream person though.RED AG 98 said:
We have a new one out by us that is awful. They don't make any donuts in-house at this Dunkin / Baskin Robins combo. Truly awful; they are two day old gas station donuts at best
My son is doing this social experiment where he has to wear a "Harris 2024" t-shirt for 2 weeks to see how people react. So far he's been spit on, punched, and had a bottle thrown at him. I'm curious what happens when he goes outside. 🤣🤣

The location at Shepherd & Richmond closed a few years ago and is now a BunB Trill Burgers (not that there's anything wrong with that).
And the Delaware Punch is now Coney Punch.
