In Waller we used to split into teams and ride horses and shoot BB guns at each other and someone would always have a pellet gun that you were only allowed to pump a couple of times. Of course they already broke the rule about BB guns so, you know they pumped past our limit.
We also used to play hide and go seek in the staked square bales in the barn or row of round bales depending on whose place we were playing.
Caught crawdads in the ditches while waiting on the bus. Damn we were easily entertained!!

Heck yeah! I got in the most trouble in my kid career when I "disappeared" on a crawdad ditch fishing excursion and my mom couldn't find me for hours.

We used to play "outlaw and posse" (modified from the "Great Brain" version with horses) with BB guns -- outlaw got a ten minute head start. Posse would then track him down. Ten minutes got you time to find a good sniping position. Game usually ended when a lob shot across the tank hit someone in the eye.
