MAGA ( Make All GIrls ..... )
Quote:
Pete Buttigieg the first openly gay presidential candidate from a major party worries those who boycott Chick-fil-A because of its executives' long opposition to gay marriage are inconsistent and "too sanctimonious" in their attempts to make a political point.
"I just want to make sure we don't overrate ourselves in terms of our ability to be pure in this regard," Buttigieg, the Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, said Wednesday during an interview with BuzzFeed News' AM to DM......
"I do not approve of their politics," Buttigieg told listeners, "but I kind of approve of their chicken."...
"I just want to make sure that we're not too sanctimonious about this, because sometimes we put ourselves in this position of judgment that doesn't really hold up under scrutiny," he said Wednesday. "My belief is that we should primarily deal with political issues in the political arena."

Okay, I doubt that there is much in this guy's political platform with which I would agree, but major kudos to him for his attitude regarding Chick-fil-aQuote:

Most of the Chick-fil-A "boycott" is a nonissue anyway. I've been traveling all over California the last few months for work and Chick-fil-A is second only to In-N-Out in fast food popularity everywhere I've stopped. The double drivethrough lines always fill the entire parking lot (often into neighboring lots) and overflow into the streets during peak hours. Like In n out, I will not eat there except during non peak hours, where the lines are long, but not to the point of laughable and even dangerous (seriously, they spill into major street intersections, no exaggeration). And the employees work their butts off and are stupid polite, which is confusing here in California. And since they're always so busy there are never fewer than 20 employees hauling ass at any given time, so they are job creators to boot.
Don't let the vocal minority fool you, everyone loves them some Chick-fil-A, even in liberal havens. To be honest, I don't think 99% of the people in California have any clue they're supposed to hate them. Most of the population doesn't keep up with the "who do we hate this week" liberal talking points of the SF, Oakland, etc. Of course, people in the working class parts of LA also aren't terrible gay-rights friendly surprisingly.

"Smollett has exactly the kind of skills we look for at our fine organization," said CNN correspondent Brian Stelter. "He picked a narrative, made up all the relevant facts and details, and stuck with his story in spite of glaring holes in the plot. It's hard to find people who understand our core values here at CNN, but Smollett seems to be just the guy for us."
The actor has accepted the offer and is now undergoing training to learn how to weave even more intricate narratives ex nihilo, according to insiders.
