So - take this or leave this.

In the 1960s, in a remote village in Spain called Garabandal, it is alleged that Mary, the Mother of God, appeared to several young shepherd children and gave them some prophecies about the end times.

The prophecy includes a timeline of events that are starting to look rather interesting. Maybe it's a coincidence? Maybe it was a hoax, and a blind chicken finds a worm every once in a while. Maybe its legit.

As a Catholic, I've always considered the Marian apparitions as interesting but not something to hang my hat on. This particular apparition is not officially recognized by the Church as being 'worthy of belief' but it's also not been discredited.

The crux of the claim:

1) The Pope would visit Moscow (note, no Pope has ever visited Moscow).
2) When he returns from Moscow, war will break out in Europe which would be followed by tribulation.
3) This visit proceeds a miraculous 'warning' that mankind is to receive from heaven.
4) The children also said that these events would coincide with an 'important synod.' This is particularly odd because at that time, hardly anybody knew what a 'Synod' even was. But, currently there is a very controversial 'synod' taking place which is supposed to wrap up in October and many expect it to have a profoundly negative affect on the Catholic Church.

In summary, the Pope is heading to Moscow, apparently, during a great synod and there is war on the doorstep to Europe not only in Ukraine but also a mobilization of troops in Serbia and Kosovo.

I try not to worry about things like this and certainly not to try and read a timeline into revelations. Instead, I worry about today and being prepared for Christ. Whether these prophecies are accurate or not shouldn't change our goal and fighting the good fight.

Did Padre Pio have any prophecies confirming this?

No prophesies that I know of, but he did believe Conchita from what I've heard.

Let's keep this in perspective...

ACI Prensa Staff, Oct 20, 2022 / 17:20 pm (CNA).

The bishop of Santander, Manuel Snchez Monge, has stated regarding the extraordinary events of Garabandal that "my position, like that of my predecessors, is that Rome's assessment remains valid: 'There are no signs of supernaturality.'"

Perpetuating Catholic superstitions does not serve the body, and frankly why I remain a Lutheran.

Superstitious- agreed, serve no good.

Miracles- however, still happen.

Matthew 24:36 "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.

Finally watched this. Umm, so by December 1 we will know if any of this is true, correct?

Back story. I have mentioned before that I "came back" to the church after some time away and I would even say a brief period of complete doubt in the existence of God. I was a "cradle" Catholic, from an early age until I left for basic training, I never missed mass on Sunday, recited the Angelus around my mom and grandma, countless rosaries, chaplets, novenas, etc. All the sacraments, I did it all. As a young man, I went on a few retreats to explore my vocation, but I didn't have such a calling. A few cool things did happen to me (personal revelation) but I would say that I was your typical cradle Catholic with no real grasp of the Kingdom of God, but I could recite the seven deadly sins and their heavenly virtues by the time of my Confirmation.

Out of habit I did continue to go to mass at St. Mary's near campus and even got to know Fr. Leon Strider personally as he would pop in from time to time in the study lounge. However, my faith hadn't been tested yet. By my sophomore year I finally got that first test. My girlfriend was pregnant. Oh boy, what was I going to do? Selfishly, I suggested an abortion. Years of praying and going to church failed to imprint on me to sanctity of life! Thankfully my girlfriend had a few more years of Catholic education on me and felt differently. She understood that it (child) was life, given by God. Her words still ring in my head, "I'm having this baby." I was given a chance to chicken out and dump her along with our baby. A second test maybe? We got married right away. Not because I really loved her, but because I didn't want to abandon my kid. We went to the JP and signed the papers. No family or friends, just us. That was 35 years ago. Love took time.

I bring up my testimony because this is how God works most often. In the video, the priest says that God will send us a sign followed by six and half weeks where the devil will be powerless to influence us so that we can declare our allegiance to God or man. I know God can do anything- but if were as simple as that don't you think he would have left an inexplicable physical sign on Golgotha, like a permanent cross stuck in the rock or something similar? Instead, God has done better...

"But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." -JER 31:33

For whatever reason, many seek a sign for the presence of God. But I tell you, the sign is us. We are his creation and when we can learn to love and respect each other - seeing God in each person.. that's the Kingdom of God.

That is a beautiful testimony. Thank you for sharing.

I actually believe the video is from a year ago... so it didn't come to pass?! I posted it more as tongue and cheek, but I guess that got lost in translation. I just recently came across some of Fr Mark Beards' sermons on YouTube. I admit the first one I watched had a click bait title along the lines "Final, prophetic homily by Fr Mark Beard" (see below). I was binge watching them when I saw the one above and thought of this thread. Some of his sermons were excellent but the "digital currency" one above didn't do much for me. I don't get caught up in "end of day" prophecies. I have a hard enough time trying through today to worry about tomorrow. I figure if I do my best to stay true to His word today, I'll be ready for whatever the next day holds whether it's the end of the world or just the end of me.

Thanks for sharing.

I have no idea how much "stock" I put into this or any of the apparitions. But I am convinced that there is a manifest evil animating much of our modern world and that in the end, the final battle with be spiritual.

Just a couple other notes on this that may have been overlooked. Both ST Padre Pio and St Mother Theresa as well as Pope at the time all were believers in Garabandal. Padre Pio not only left Conchita a letter, he also left her a few of his belongings including a glove and rosary ( among a few other things). They were all very close to each other. Also at the time of all this to happen, Communism will be a massive factor worldwide ( currently is taking over in the US cities, which one would never have guessed)....I also recall a couple other statements made by the visionaries regarding "
Many cardinals, many bishops, and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them.".... Of course this was shunned at the time but now one doesn't have to look to far to see this was probably in regards to many things, but has to be the coverups of sexual abuse etc...

I believe there was also a mention about mothers being alive but babies dying from them (abortion?).......

Great group on FB called the miracle at garabandal run by a legit person. worth reading some of the articles. Buckle up because maybe 2024 is the even year that is mentioned in the messages.

DEC 1 has never been associated with Garabandal. The only date mentioned is the miracle is in an Even year (which happens after the warning) and certain months are involved as well etc. BUT NEVER DEC 1

What about the Bishop? Just curious to see if the private revelation has been granted a higher level of approval. Thx!

ETA: the Dec 1st date was talked about in the video by the priest, I have no idea about this apparition, just that "no one knows the day or hour" biblical reference (MT 24:36).

But I thought the four visionaries later withdrew their claim, citing that they were playing childish games.
