In Solomon's temple, which has edenic imagery, pomegranate fruits appear on the walls. The tree is commonly depicted as a pomegranate, but in reality the tree is not any earthly taxa. The tree is a literary device to convey a truth.

I'm not sure if that's the case. I think it is a literal tree. Perhaps an olive tree. Prepare it wrong and it could poison you. It has many uses including fruits of sorts and is now the symbol of peace and inversely war. It's also the leaf brought back by the dove to Noah. A symbolic double meaning of the earthly plain which is both good and evil.

It's the Tree of life and the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The tree of knowledge of good and evil was forbidden. The tree of life was a sacrament of life.

You mean like what kind of tree? Live oak. We can then deduce from this interpretation that the garden was in Texas, and the fall of man happened somewhere near Dallas.

In which case the forbidden fruits were acorns and toxic to humans. Mystery solved everyone!

The garden of Eden was in northwest Missouri. Get your facts straight
