The 'fascism' part seemed fringe but I do t know how anyone was surprised by the response. The idea of bringing kids to 1) a bar and 2) a drag show is just nuts. I don't care what others chose to do privately, but forcing it on the public is never going to work…and trying to promote it to kids is just going to bring the weight of the moral majority. This is also why you don't take kids to 'meet the stripper' daySilian Rail said:

I agree on the current division and the lunatic fringe on both sides (think the Gorsuch attempt and the goofballs that do exactly what they think Trump is telling them). Not sure I understand or agree on the CRT or concern of parents about some content in schools. I think the consistency is on social conservatism. I think that's a much larger crowd than those on the right who art straight up conspiracy theorists regarding COVID. I don't think there are degrees of 'tameness' when you are introducing kids to sexually based ideas. There is age appropriate and not. When it comes to kids, at least for me, I will always be more conservative about exposure to some things.Macarthur said:BluHorseShu said:The 'fascism' part seemed fringe but I do t know how anyone was surprised by the response. I would say that I am not surprised by the response, but I do think this is going into dangerous territory. I fear there will be some sort of violence or killing at one of these drag events. It's like a pizzagate thing all over again. This groomer thing is going to resonate with some nut that thinks he's got to go 'save the kids' and shoot something up.
I have only seen the short clips associated with this story so I can't speak for all these events, but what I saw was pretty tame and not overtly sexual. It does strike me as hypocritical for many on the right to be so rigid about parents rights when it comes to some of the things going on lately (vaccines, masks, CRT, etc.) yet their head is exploding over these parents allowing their kids to go this event.

Incredibly PG? How?
also, you're a few years behind on your definition of conservative. The libertarians lost, the good guys one. You don't get to abuse your child just because he's yours.

Give me a break. That video does not show abuse.

So, you're okay telling parents they can't take their kids to this? Yes
Let me ask you this....You have more of an issue of the drag show or this, as it relates to kids?Drag show
See, I find the drag show much less icky than the photo above. That's…disturbing. To say the least
Why? Solid trigger and muzzle discipline all around.Macarthur said:

Yes actually and any objective observer will too. Sex and porn hijack the brain in a way that guns don't. They're actually addictive or impede/redirect development and we have research showing that. So baby-stepping kids into a world like drag or sexual identity via the groomers in school has a much more nefarious impact than giving a kid an airsoft gun or hunting with him.

And I find it quite disturbing the other way around.
And Isn't it interesting how parents rights are fine until the clash with what i believe they should be doing.

Says the guy who posted some rando family's picture on the internet as a rebuttal to taking children to a 21+ establishment.

I used that one, in particular, because it's a public figure, but there are plenty floating around out there with much smaller children.
There's also tons of photos of kids that have smeared blood on their face after their first kill. I've even seen one that a little girl take a bite of the deer's heart after it's freshly killed.
I think things like that POTENTIALLY are far more harmful that watching guys dancing around in women's clothes. And for the record, I don't care that you hunt deer...that's not the issue.

One is a rite of passage and initiation into a community/clan. Wholesome, ancient, and strengthens ties to family and community.
The other is grooming.

I see it as grooming the other way around. you think smearing blood on a kids face is wholesome?
See how some folks have diff views.....crazy huh?

I've mentioned it many times but I volunteered with an anti-trafficking org and have many friends that foster and adopt. This is textbook grooming for sex by normalizing and introducing pride and drag at this age without the context of what it is to people who don't and can't understand it.
Guns aren't comparable and you should be embarrassed this even has to be typed. Society doesn't exploit and use children who grow up hunting in the way they do children who grow up exposed to sex shows and sexual identity.
