Nice to know life was able to survive an event like that. The hypothesis that this may have been the cause for the ice ages 2.5 MYA is also pretty interesting.

Very cool. If they have an idea of where the nebula is they could calculate when it actually exploded since the isotopes would take some time to get here and be deposited in the mud.

you mean, god put the exact right ratio of rare isotopes with a known half life in rocks that makes it appear that a supernova exploded in the interstellar neighborhood of earth several million years ago as a way to make his creation more wonderful and mystifying?
