How does someone sit on a jury like that to convict? Do they rely on the testimony of law enforcement or do they actually have to look at the evidence? Seems the law enforcement involved would need counseling too if that's all you do.
I was on just such a jury a few years ago. It was the punishment phase of a man like this one, Sunday school teacher, dad of young children, etc. who had just been convicted of many counts of possession and production of child pornography.
Yes, the prosecutor did choose to make us all view several days of videos, much this man had downloaded but some he had made himself. Of his kids and their neighbor friends. The prosecutor also had every photo on the man's computer printed out on 8 1/2 by 11 paper and stacked on the floor in front of us. Multiple stacks 3-4 feet tall.
The prosecutor's purpose was to make sure we weren't tempted to go light on length of jail time. Ultimately we did choose to give him the max.
