If you believe in a pre, mid or post tribulation rapture is not exactly what I am interested in. But do you think we will be living as we do now without the end times kicking off in the next 10 yrs? Thank you for your thoughts.
I was bored enough to click on that crazy. It's a curiously bad reading of that scripture. Never heard of a "fig tree generation" to avoid the obvious reading before.AggielandPoultry said:
I found this breakdown on the timeline very interesting...

It could be the instant you are reading this or it could be in a 1000 years or another 5,000. Nobody knows the timing of the second coming and it's designed that way. I'm going to throw out rapture doctrine since John Nelson Darby was a heretic.AggielandPoultry said:

The solar system has a sense of humor: A decade from now, on Friday, April 13, 2029, a large asteroid will streak across the sky but it's a cause for excitement, not fear, scientists say.
That asteroid, called Apophis, stretches about 1,100 feet (340 meters) across and will pass within 19,000 miles (31,000 kilometers) of Earth's surface. That might sound scary, but scientists are positive that it will not hit Earth.

I don't understand the question. If Jesus has not returned, I'll be living my life normally.AggielandPoultry said:

Been a long time since a rapture thread, but my word replacer "rapture" -> "raptor" is just as hilarious as ever.
As a former evangelical looking back, the whole idea of a rapture has got to be the wildest and weirdest belief in all of Protestantism.
Maybe the UFO Ezekiel describes in Chapter 1 is Enoch/Elijah traveling through time/space to meet Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration?ramblin_ag02 said:
My favorite crazy Enoch, Elijah theory is that they are the same time-travelling prophet

So does snake handling and the prosperity gospel. Doesn't make them any less ridiculous

Am I choosing not to believe Matthew 24:36? I believe it. I believe it is a Jewish idiom, b/c it is. If you want to take Mark 9:43-47 as you are Matthew 24:36, then literally cut off your hand, foot, and pluck your eyes out. Or you can understand they are idioms.mwm said:
I guess you can believe whatever you choose to believe.
I choose to believe Matthew 24:36.
