So, a little background. I chose, back in October, to try a plant based diet. No philosophical or environmental reasons - I just wanted to see if it made me feel better and if it improved my athletic performance.
And lo and behold - it did.
So - as Lent approaches, I see days of fasting and days of abstinence. I abstain from all animal meat all the time, so days of abstinence don't mean anything. I periodically practice 18 and 24 hour fasts as well - do doing one on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday is a piece of cake.
So - I plan to ask my priest about this - but what are your thoughts on how to approach Lent this year regarding fasting and abstinence? If I follow the church's teachings, I'll just be doing what I normally do anyway.
