1. She is pregnant with Jesus.

2. Interestingly the Aztecs understood this. In the original image she is looking down. This meant that there is a greater power.

3. Her mantle has the constellations of the day of her miraculous appearance to the Aztec, Juan Diego.

4. Her dress has a sacred flower to the Aztecs.

5. She appeared on the hill, Tepeyac - former site of the mother goddess Tonatzin. Very important!

6. Until recently, almost 400 years later, it was discovered that you can see a reflection of the people in her eyes. No one could have ever painted that, BTW. This is fact alone puts this 500+ year old image in a category all alone as "unexplained".

I could write a lot more - grew up with her image in our home. Have her image in my home now - along with JC. For a lot of people, she pointed the way to the true faith. Aztecs foretold her coming and is it any wonder that Moctezuma (not a warrior) listened to Cortez? He could have annihilated the first Spanish expedition that landed in Vera Cruz, but he suspected this was something bigger than him - he was right.

One last point - we don't worship "La Virgin" - far from it - we love her as our loving mother and listen to her when she says, "Do whatever he tells you."
