"poster franklins" sound like those minute strips of paper that fall off of poster board along the cut edges.

Used in a sentence:

"Now, class, after you cut the poster down the middle, gently pull off the poster franklins so we have a smooth edge with which to work."

Sounds to me like one of those weird Scandinavian monsters. "Oleg, be good or the Poster Franklins will get you!"
