Time to ask this questions again. I asked it several months ago and received good feedback. I am looking for some new material- good Podcasts on subjects of :
  • History, Biographies
  • Church/ Bible History, Commentary on church fathers writings, key figures in church- example Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas

Last time, someone recommended, Dan Carlin's Hardcore history- that was pretty good. He is interesting, good story teller.

Podcasts- that I recommend:
  • Word on Fire- Bishop Baron
  • Catholic Answers
  • EWTN- Fr. Mitch Pacwa
  • Fr. Dwight Longenecker- church history- he is ok, I tend to lack focus and day dream while he talks
  • Fr. Al Lauer- OT Catholic Bible Study- he is ok, not awesome

Thanks for starting this. I'd been wanting to do something similar, but my sleep schedule is all messed up with the new baby and I kept forgetting.

On a routine basis I listen to the following. Not all are on a podcasting app, some have their own.

Podcasts:
1. Thinking Fellows (part of 1517legacy podcast group. There are others under this group that are more specific, but this one is easily the best).
2. Just and Sinner (though he rarely has new podcasts anymore and favors Youtube).
3. The Council of Trent (Trent Horn podcast)
4. Thy Strong Word (book by book review from Lutheran perspective).

Podcasts on their own Apps:
1. Issues, Etc (Lutheran Public Radio app that is on live 2 hr/day with a good archive.
2. Catholic Answers
3. Ancient Faith Radio (many different podcasters I like)
- Roads from Emmaus
- The Areopagus (Just a great show).
- The Whole Council of God (easily the best verse by verse review of Bible out there)
- Orthodoxy Live - Q&A format
- Faith Encouraged Live - Topical show with Q&A

Martyr made- Fear and loathing I the new Jerusalem. A very informative piece on the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Highly recommend.

I have not listened to it in a while but Catholic under the Hood is a very thorough history podcast. He can be somewhat dull and is moving through the entire Church history at a snail's pace. It is worth a listen to see if it interests you
