Lots of cultures have thought that and concluded that existence itself is a endlessly repeating cycle. But that's not the typical Judeo-Christian point of view, so even if we can draw some conclusion about the world based on repeating patterns like seasons and day/night cycles there is no reason to think it will agree with the one you've come to.

Personally, I am not convinced any conclusions drawn from this are valid at all.

I hear dark energy is slowly but surely tearing things apart. There's even a chance the previous universe was recycled and used to form this one.

All theories though.

Edit: There's no way to know for certain what iteration this universe we live in is. It could be infinite going back and forth.

Who said anything about the Judeo-Christian religion? We were on the topic of things eternal.

IMO, sometimes we can make observations and take it for granted. Cycles sure aren't anything man came up with. They just are, have been and will be. It's amazing we can talk about them at all. We'd be dead without them.

Jean Meslier a Roman Catholic priest was the first to put his name to an incontrovertibly atheist document.

Of the seven types of atheism, Gray rejects #1 - #5, which depend on theistic assumptions, and is drawn to the last two.

1. new atheism, 19th century orthodoxy
2. secular humanism
3. science made into religion
4. political religions
5. God-haters
6. non-pious towards 'humanity'
7. mystical, negetive theologies

Please elaborate on this.

Is it the human race that wins?

According to the critical war theorist Johnson, it's how rebellions win. After all, God is just a rebellion against hate and chaos.
