Fair enough. I'll start a new thread. And don't worry, I don't like most of your answers , but that shouldn't stop us from having a respectful discussion.

Quote:

Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you has an evil heart of unbelief that falls away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another day by dayas long as it is called "Today"so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partners of Messiah, if we hold our original conviction firm until the end. Hebrews 3:12-14

Once saved always saved is a false doctrine.

Who is the audience in Hebrews?
A. All Jews
B. All people
C. Jewish Believers
D. All 6believers

Why was Hebrews written?
A. To tell people how to have eternal life?
B. To motivate believers who are being persecuted to continue to follow Jesus instead of going back to practicing Judiasm? (Gives 5 strong warnings)
C. To tell people how they lose their salvation?

What do we know is true of believers in Jesus?
John 5:24 Has eternal life, passed out of Judgment into Eternal life
Roman 8:39 Human believers are created and cannot seperate themselves from God
Eph 1:13-14 sealed by the Spirit until the day of redemption
John 6:27 Jesus, "He who believers has eternal life"
John 10:29 Jesus gives eternal life and He and the Father secure it.

Who's responsible for securing the salvation of believers in the passages above?

What else do we know about believers from?
Romans 3:23, 1 Corinthians, Hebrews, life of Abraham, David, Peter.

Blashphemy Verses:
  • The audience in these passages are not believers.
  • The verb tense seems to indicate that it's a continous blashpemy vs a 1 time
  • because we know the nature of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit's role in salvaton that a believer who is sealed with the Spirit cannot unseal themselves
  • we know that believers can grieve the Spirit withwhom they are sealed with their poor choices.

God saves us, we do not save ourselves or maintain our salvation through our obedience, therefore He gets all of the praise, glory and honor. As believers we are secure in our relationship with God and should life lifestyles that honor Him, lead others to Him, and reflect His moral character. As believers we will still sin however He does not un-adopt us and throw us into the fire as our salvation is secure because of His character and promises.
