Does your church do it?

What is this year's themes, crafts, decorations etc? pictures of cute children and decor encouraged,

I'm apparently "the" decorator for my church's VBS suddenly and I need to decorate the music room, one class room, the gym, and maybe the narthex of the church. Budget is none, but I can give a approximate price, and he'll "see what he can do". No one else signed up. Vaguely medieval themed.

I feel like:

Galactic Starveyors. This is the main outreach of our church. First week of summer. The leaders go all-out.

VBS isn't in the Bible, so no! #solascripturaforthewin

Just kidding though. Our old church did it. Not sure what they're doing this year though.

based on your theme and budget you should nail a full copy of Luther's 95 theses to each door in the building. The kids will love it!

Yep. I'm gonna do "diet of worms" in cafeteria, wittenberg door in the narthex, knight themed stuff in one class room with the Luther rose and whatnot, a banquet hall looking thing in music room and a mighty fortress in gym

My church seems to be doing a Makers Fun Factory.

Most VBS kids are a little young for bourbon, but I can get on board with that

I was at the church from 2pm til10:30pm (not including church which was almost a 2 hour service because trinity sunday is always long, it was our cantor's last day so every song had some extra flourish, and our pastor was V emotional, due to the funerals, wedding, and last day of Cantor)

My helpers I recruited no showed. Hands hurt from packing tape and duct tape fiascos, but I'm pretty proud of what I got done.

snack table

gym where games are

Classroom 1

Music Hall

Sanctuary Narthex (A mighty fortress)

Each day will be a Sola theme

So today is Sola Scriptura (apparently they are doing a BIble relay as the game)
Tomorrow Sola Fida ( I said to do Trust Falls )
Sola Gratia on Wednesday (I said just don't kill them)
Sola Christus on Thursday ( I got no jokes here)
And Soli Deo Gloria to end the week.

I hope it goes well! (Mostly I hope the tape holds up. I used an entire roll of packing and duct tape)

Paper cut out Martin Luther had to use a ladder to nail his 95 Theses

No, there is a reason he had to be a monk and not playing for the Wittenberg Tigers baseball club.
