The name of his best selling book is not "because the bible tells us so" or "Trust in God all the time!".

Let's be honest. He doesn't just stop at "in all things".
Right because Preachers shouldn't go into details about each aspect of trusting in God and how to live as a christian.

What's to stop at? All things is pretty inclusive.

Sick? Trust God.
Wealthy? Trust in God.
Barren? Trust God.
etc.

Do you really want to compare his book to others in terms of spiritual growth and trusting God?

No kidding. His book wouldn't be called "your best life now" if the above where how he thinks. But we've seen quote after quote that spell out this idea that God is this vending machine of blessing all you have to do to get your temporal desires is to hit the button.

If his book was all about how you could have your "best life now" in spite of your circumstances, or how to be content with what you have I would have applauded him for that bait and switch.

But, its not. It's about how to leverage God to get what you want.

I really hope my best life is not now.
If I believed that I would be a hedonist.

You cannot manipulate nor leverage God. God is not some genie that grants wishes or a vending machine.

If you use the ignore function on 79 it is only 8 posts long

Maybe read the first 2 or three pages. Stop when it gets repetitive.

There has never been a 17 page R&P thread that was worth reading. Anything beyond 4 has, in all likelihood, devolved into stupidity.
