Well, based on Catholic tradition, we at least know that Jesus was a White guy.Martin Q. Blank said:

Does the Pope or local bishop or whatever not have control over this? I've been told on this board that what they are doing is NOT Catholic teaching. So these people must be COMPLETELY ignorant of Catholic teaching. Who is to blame for that?Aggiefan#1 said:
I don't see Catholicism at fault there. I see second/third world craziness.
I've yet to see anything like that from my (Antiochian Orthodox) church and we REALLY love us some icons.
Can we just agree the video is the Popes fault since the Philippines is 80% RCC;-)
I checked this guy out and found he wrote a book that's for sale on Amazon. Saw a review that made me laugh: "Easy to read and understand, and correct Bible was used !"TampaBayAg said:
Not trying to call out Catholics, but most the Catholics I know don't really care about the Churches teaching on moral or theological issues. They go to Mass, take the Eucharist, go to confession, do penance, and go back to their lives unhindered.Quote:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume they're talking about the KJV.
Well, which version of the KJV? I always got a good chuckle out of the insistence on using KJV-only in fundie school especially given the strong suspicions that King James was gay. My brother even got an F on a Bible class assignment because he used the NIV. Ah, good ol' legalisms.TampaBayAg said:RetiredAg said:TampaBayAg said:

I'm not aware of her producing her own translation. The only thing I've seen is her delving into the original language used while researching a specific issue, but I don't think she made her own translation of the Bible.chuckd said:
I personally like the translations of L.R. Knost.

I think there is a bit of an axe to grind against... something... there.
Only the original 1611 version. Don't fall for those heretical reprints that make U and V separate letters.RetiredAg said:
