Wife took balls 23 years ago. Also, I'm a non-person around here. Not enough juice to start an official anything.

Solid movie. And "It's never too late to not be a dick" might be a new favorite quote for me.

Jonathan Majors was cooking

I love the ant family. I did get some vibes that this was a little close to Ragnarok with weird creatures rebellion but eh.

Overall I had a fun time and will likely see it again. That is all I want.

Also damn Michelle Pfiefer

It definitely feels different from the first 2. The action scenes were really well done and I'm a big fan of giant Ant Man and when he plows through stuff. I enjoyed the Bill Murray scene.

I wasn't a fan of MODOK. I thought they should have left him out of it. I also didn't care for the daughter too much either.

Majors was the best part. He is perfect for Kang and all his variants. Can't wait to see where it goes with him.

The second post credit scene with Loki and Owen Wilson may have been my favorite. That ended the movie on a good note and I'm even more pumped for season 2 than ever before.

Overall it was ok. I didn't think it was terrible or all that good either. I liked the first one more but this feels like the first real step towards something in the MCU.

Movie sucked. Terrible movie with funny lines. Posts above say the second post credit was the best part. I left after the first.

Silly movie, but a lot of fun. Worthy addition to the franchise given Ant Man has always been on the sillier side.

saw it last night and i enjoyed it. it was my 2nd favorite post-Endgame MCU film, behind No Way Home.

i've seen a lot of complaints about the tonal shift from the first two Ant-Man movies. that's obviously the case, but i was expecting that. we knew they were launching Kang and that's not going to be on the streets of San Francisco.

i suppose they could have split up the team and only had half of them get sucked into the QR. then the rest of them stay in SF and work with Luis and the rest of the team to try and get them back using Cassie's machine. i'm not sure that's more effective than having the whole family in the QR, but it would at least scratch that Ant-Man 1 and 2 itch.

johnathan majors is really incredible. he was both subtle and terrifying. i'm super excited about Kang going forward.

Hit the nail on the head. Majors as Kang is A+ casting and makes this movie better than it ought to be for every scene he's in. Really elevates the whole movie. For Kang alone, I want to see this again.

Question for those that have seen this: my 8 year old has expressed interest in seeing this. Is this too "sciency" that it will be over his head? I worry about this being to heavy with the quantum world stuff that he'll be bored out of his mind.

Some of the "rules" so to speak were over my head. I don't think that's important to enjoying this one though. Lots of really cool visuals and and action. There's some light language, but that's all that would even remotely concern me with a kid that age.

They don't really try to explain anything. Shrink enough and you're flying to the Quantum Realm in a worm hole…basically perfect for an 8 year old.

I saw it last night, and it was my most anticipated movie after endgame with the exception of Spider-Man. Johnathan Majors was great as Kang, and I think they did a great job to show how evil he was/is. Thanos had a warped sense that what he did had good for the universe. Majors did a great job of showing how maniacal and evil they can make the character. I loved both end credit scenes as they actually weren't throw away or comedic scenes.

As an aside, I laughed when MODOK made a comment about the Wasp's hair. As many people griped about it since the previews came out, I wonder if his line was post-production or self-awareness when making the movie.

Yeah...that was not good.

Best way I can describe it is it felt like an amateur screenwriter wanted to emulate the irreverence of Guardians of the Galaxy and failed badly at it.

There's minimal stakes and I really never cared about anything that was happening onscreen. Just an orgy of random, wacky CGI creatures and fight scenes.

Also I like how there was absolutely zero explanation given for how anyone in the Quantum Realm even exists. So Kang was there alone, but then what? He says he built his empire, but out of what? Thin air?

And not gonna lie, Kang did absolutely nothing for me. It's nothing against the actor per se, but there's just not much there. He kind of just screams at people and shoots blue energy and has force powers. But other than that, we know absolutely nothing about him, and frankly I don't care to.

If this is the new big bad that's supposed to be the next Thanos...eesh.

I would say it's definitely in my bottom 5 MCU movies. Not particularly excited for the next phase to be very honest.

Oh and sidenote, a group of 3-4 people in my row walked out about 45 minutes in. I don't think I've ever seen that in a major blockbuster, much less a Marvel movie. (And in IMAX no less.) And can't really blame them to be honest. I made it about another 15 minutes after they left before I was bored and just waiting for to it to end.

Oh and forgot to mention, MODOK was absolutely ridiculous, and not in a good way. Super cringe. Got a laugh when he first showed his face, and not the kind of laugh they wanted.

It was okay. Some of the dialogue was a bizarre as the cgi. Did not care for MODOK or most of the forced humor. Would have been nice if they explained where everyone came from.

Yeah, the serious dialogue was cringingly cliche....

"We just want to go home."...."At least you have a home!"

...while the humerous dialogue was subpar and fell flat....

"It's never too late to not be a dick."

MODOK was lame and his every appearance just pulled me out of the moment because I ended up just transfixed by how awful he looked.

They even somehow managed to waste Paul Rudd's natural charisma.

It felt more like a silly stand-alone young kids movie from the 90's rather than a Marvel movie in 2023.

The one thing I did really like was Jonathan Majors performance. I really hope they don't waste him in this role.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't great. I don't know any comic backstory, but MODOK was goofy looking as soon as the helmet was removed. Wish we knew a tad more about residents of the quantum realm, but not end of the world for me.

It was okay, but it didn't know what kind of movie it wanted to be.

MODOK has always been a terrible idea. It's like Marvel meets Dr. Who.

There was no need for the ants to become an advanced culture. It took away from the story. Most of the best jokes were already played out in the trailers.

But still I enjoyed it, and I'll watch it again.

The movie was a B. Better than the reviews but could have been better

Biggest crime was having access to Bill Murray and using him in a dramatic Lando Calrissian type role, but then relying on Corey Stoll for comic relief.

Also, not a good idea to nerf Kang with ants. If he's going to be the next Big Bad of the MCU,having him lose to insects does not set a good precedent.

Modok was awful, I can't believe they signed off on that completed look. It was horrendous. His lines at the end though were actually pretty funny.

Overall, it wasn't bad. It was entertaining. There are a few things that are a little off, but I liked it on the whole.

Really liked Jonathan Majors as Kang. I am looking forward to seeing more of him.

So which spoiler thread is the Prime variant of spoiler threads???

I LOVED this. I have absolutely no idea why it got 43%. I honestly feel a lot of reviewers try to hold Marvel to too high a standard. This wasn't in the top 10 of Marvel movies but it was fun, tense and well done. Best of the Ant-Man movies and sets up a lot for the future.

Although I was not a fan of MODOK at all, his line about being an Avenger was one of the funniest lines in the movie.

Which I guess says a lot about the humor overall.

Dumb movie.

Cassie recast was a terrible decision. This girl reminds me too much of Miley Cyrus. As someone else said, she reallt made it feel like Shark Boy and Lava Girl with a bigger budget.

MODOK fell flat. Just looked like a 30 minute photoshop meme job once his face was revealed. just leave the mask on but give him Cross's voice.

Kang was cool but did not feel imposing enough. You knew from the jump that Thanos was not to be messed with. Kang just does not feel very threatening.

Very happy with the casting of Kang the Conqueror - Marvel / Disney continues to lead the way for social progress, and our 5 year old is really looking forward to the new Little Mermaid.
