Yes, it was nice to see them going full lethal.

I know it's a kids show, I have to keep reminding myself, but the stuff you mention about wearing uniforms and flying the same ship also annoys me. Even my 7 year old said to the dead wookie on TV, "ugh don't just sit there you're gonna get shot."

And for real, Vader or inquisitors would drop on them so fast once word of a jedi got back.

...but...I did like the episode overall.

Great episode. Loved seeing Gungi and Kashyyk and the old EU references.

I think it's building more than people are giving credit for. The Batch, especially Hunter, are increasing willing and even eager to get into the fight against the Empire. We saw in the trailer Rex asking CF99 for help on a mission, which will obviously be early Rebellion (pre-Alliance) related. Hunter in the past has been all about laying low and steering clear, but the more of the galaxy they see, Echo's point of view is winning out... they should be doing more. This is all precursor to them throwing themselves into the fight.

Looking way ahead, we know Rex survives until Jedi, but know nothing about the fate of CF99. We know Omega is important to the Kaminoans because she has the best Jango DNA (and probably for more reasons), who are now under the thumb of the Imperial cloning enterprise, the same one we see in Mando.

Do we know how many seasons are planned? My guess is by the end of this season the Batch is pulled fully into the early rebel network, and one final season has them fully engaged in some stuff that kinda parallels some of the stuff going on in early Rebels, with an angle on the cloning operation. I'd bet some of CF99 survives and some doesn't.

Pretty cold blooded of Gungi letting the spiders take that bad guy.

At the beginning of rebels, isn't Rex hiding with 2 other old clones? Curious how he'll go from whatever he's doing now to that.

Do we think the Bad Batch will have the same aging as regular clones?

Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor all retire to Selos and live in a mobile AT-TE at some point. The Ghost crew meets them in Season 2 when Ahsoka sends them to contact Rex to help with a mission. Wolffe initially betrays the Ghost crew and alerts the Empire, but Rex convinced him they weren't the enemy.

Initially only Rex joins the Rebellion, but the other two meet up with them to fight in the Liberation of Lothal, during which time Gregor gets killed.

You would think that the Bad Batch ages at the same rate because they look at a comparable age to the clones they've fought when those clones have their helmets off.

Isn't Rebels roughly 18 years after this time period? Maybe more. Luke and Leia are roughly 1 right now. Time for aging. Which, don't clones age faster anyway?

Rebels starts 5 years before ANH. The problem with how old the Bad Batch might be or how quickly they might age is that we don't know when they were created. It says they have favorable genetic mutations from the normal clones, so that would make you think they were created after the first batch which happened shortly after the events of TPM.

Lama Su tells Obi-Wan that the clones age twice as fast as a normal human, which means the first ones would have been 20 around the time of AOTC, 26 by ROTS, and 64 or so by the time of ANH, which is roughly 32 years after TPM.

That sorta tracks with what we've seen from Rex/Gramps in RotJ, which is a retcon but still works.

Yeah, but you can skip the first. It is senate heavy and just talks about pensions.

Lol. I just finished them both and was thinking a couple of our more Senate-curious posters are going to love them.

The best part about the first episode was when it dawned on me who was coming to get Slip.

Omega is pretty lucky that Rampart didn't pay any attention to her in the senate hallway.

95% great episodes, 5% WTF are you thinking moments.

This show is like a bipolar person. A few episodes that seem like they were ideas from Andor's cutting room floor and the rest of the episodes written by me in the 4th grade.

Really enjoyed the senate stuff, always love Rex showing up, and getting the Batch more and more leaning Rebellion, with Echo joining Rex at the end was great.

Of course on the flip side, WTF are you doing having Omega go with the Senator into the Senate building, and just wandering the halls hanging out. Not one person says, hey who the hell is this kid? And she's blurting out she's a clone to anyone who would listen.

Liked them launching the venator, was sort of hoping they were going to steal it. Great to see Coruscant, Mas Amedda, and of course the one and only Sheev being creepy and conniving as hell. Really hope we get hi even for 30 seconds on Andor season 2.

I laughed out loud when Omega proposed going with the senator to protect her. Then the biggest objection was security clearance instead of that SHE'S A CHILD.

I'm sure 12 year olds shoot laser bow and arrows inside the senate hallway all the time.

The real shame of the episode was she could have taken a free shot at Palpatine and she didn't, and with no guards around he would have had to use the Force to stop it and revealed himself

There should be a fan film made of various senators reacting to how incredible effed up Palpatine looks and sounds after Order 66, like why isn't this guy getting some plastic surgery to look even slightly less demonic?

It's not even that she's a child...isn't she like target #1 of the Empire's cloning program? I don't remember if they wanted to keep using her or kill her.

He did, but considering how many people are walking around with cybernetic limbs and ****, you'd have to wonder why the most powerful person in the galaxy doesn't get some sort of work done so they don't look like a psycho all the time. If you went to work one day and your boss looked like this.

and a few days later he rolls up rocking this look

There's probably be a little gossip about WTF is going on here.

Quotes from Dee Bradley Baker about Crosshair

"His story becomes very, very interesting. My favorite episode is a Crosshair episode. It's coming up about three quarters of the way through. It's a really interesting story, and his own personal journey is particularly interesting to me. It's a real standout this season.

…Crosshair is this interesting, coiled snake of a guy, who's got a very odd, contrary opinion and viewpoint of things. I mean, his job is not only to hit things from a stealth distance, but I think he also views the world and other people from that distance, as well, and because of that, he's an interesting character. The voice is the quietest of all the Bad Batch, certainly. But he's not arch. He's not pure evil. He's ultimately a rational guy, and there's some humanity in there, too."

Back to the Batch proper in this episode. I was really frustrated by how dumb the writers were concerning the highly explosive mineral. Tech tells you how dangerous it is 30 times but we still see him toss the container of it on the ground and them carry a satchel full of vials of it on a white-water rafting experience. Then blowing a little of it up looks like nothing more than any other explosion.

That said, the episode was largely saved by Tech's talk with Omega where he opened up a little. Nicely done.

Cid is a huge B. Not sure why they keep working for her.

Also wonder why they seem to have no interest in getting Omega some sort of her own armor. They're all ready to take on the entire universe and she's wearing a small hat.

I really got a good laugh out of Wrecker clothes lining the kid who stole their ship.

Also Mokko is the worst hand to hand fighter in Galactic history.

i sincerely hope so......

overall, this season has been kind of a letdown and i love the bad batch. i dont hate it....it just hasn't amounted to as much as i was hoping for this far into the season. we still have 6 episodes left so im expecting there to be something better coming.....but 10 episodes in to this and the only major things to occur are:

Echo left CF99
The origin of the storm troopers revealed (which began in season 1 so that was cool)
Cody is still alive (maybe)
Lizard/dinosaur bar lady has a dark past

and that's it after 10 episodes....there's been a little character development here and there outside of those items i listed....but i would've expected more up to this point....

we haven't even seen the kaminoan who was imprisoned by the empire at the end of season 1 which was a heavy hint at the empire dabbling in the cloning process as well as we've only gotten one episode with crosshair so far....

just a little disappointed but holding out hope that all that we've seen is going to amount to something big later on in this series

I agree. It seems like they're building to them deciding to do something important, but it's the slowest burn possible. I wish they'd splilt the season more to what Cody and Crosshair and the rest are doing if they're going to just keep on going on the video game missions. The part where they had 60 seconds to get through the super-heated exhaust tower was about as Jedi Knight / Jedi Outcast a level as you can get.

The Batch's only motivation seems to be doing missions to get money. But what are they even spending the money on? Fuel and food? Those guys have been around the galaxy enough to know they could make way more as bodyguards or mercs or anything else. They clearly have no compunction about putting Omega in harm's way, so why do they not have an overarching purpose?

I get they don't want to be constantly engaging other clones in battle, but they've seen what Rex is doing, they've seen what people like Hera Syndulla (Season 1) and her father are doing, and they've seen so much bad stuff. Echo stayed to help out Rex. Shouldn't they be doing something more worthwhile than bumbling along from place to place?

They're trying to scrape by without attracting action. They know they can lay low with Cid, so it makes sense to just get by. It's a lot harder to hide out and avoid the empire as mercs or bodyguards.

This season is really about them learning it's not enough. Look at Andor. It's different, but it took a lot for Cassian to want to stop just laying low and pretending he could just get by. Same with them.

They take Omega with them everywhere because in their eyes, she's safer with them and they can keep tabs on her.

it is just pointless storytelling with almost zero character growth or story advancement.

we have had maybe 20 minutes of actual progression and the rest has been treading water.

the worst part is that they know Cid is shady, she actively verbally abuses them and screws them over.

and they stick with her like an abusive relationship instead of going elsewhere to make their way.
just like Star Wars fans and the Sequel Trilogi…..

Crap are we supposed to learn something from this?
