I thought he eventually settled in a rest home in East Texas and spent most of his days with JFK (who, having faked his assassination and underwent therapy to change his skin color, was trying to live in peaceful anonymity).

I had to look this one up since I knew the "King" the OP referred to isn't Elvis, he died in 1977.

Bubba Ho-Tep. I saw this at the Angelica in Dallas three sheets to the wind not knowing what I was about to watch. And spent the whole movie with a WTF look on my face, but realized afterwards I liked it, without remembering I watched it.
