This is my only concern about this movie, that the current political climate does not allow for anyone to be made fun of (well, except perhaps for white Christian males).Bruce Almighty said:
Hopefully Mel Brooks doesn't hold back on his style of humor, but you can't make fun of anyone anymore, so we'll see.
I wonder if he'll really be involved.Bruce Almighty said:

I hadn't really thought of the original movie for many years until recently when I found it on iTunes for $4.99, so I bought it and watched it again for the first time since probably 1982 when it aired on HBO or The Movie Channel. Laughed my ass off from beginning to end.

With Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and Ike Barinholtzin the writing group I doubt there will be many sacred cows.
I'm actually curious if Mel Brooks still has what it takes. Dude is 100 yrs old or close to it.LeonardSkinner said:superunknown said:Cinco Ranch Aggie said:This is my only concern about this movie, that the current political climate does not allow for anyone to be made fun of (well, except perhaps for white Christian males).Bruce Almighty said:

Is it okay if I say that I'm not terribly impressed by that staff? And consequently, that I'm not expecting much from this production?

Not sure about the other writers, but I have a hard time imagining 95 year old Mel Brooks gives a damn about being cancelled.
History of the World Pt I is easily a top 5 comedy of all time for me. And this is arguably the funniest scene from any movie I've ever seen.helloimustbegoing said:
What a great original. Count de Money, Judas at the Last Supper, Gregory Hines, and of course
Nail on head. Hope I can watch it with my Dad.et98 said:
As others have said, I am not going into this with high expectations. However, there's no way I'm not going to watch it.
That is my favorite from the movie.Corporal Punishment said:

Nah, I get it. None of them are household names, but Kroll's writing etc for Big Mouth and The League and Barinholtz had roles on Eastbound & Down and The League, so neither of them give a damn about being too PC and up until Sykes came out, she was known for pushing boundaries too, so that's what I'm basing it on.
