Sinead O'Connor's version of Sacrifice easily tops Elton John, IMO. In fact for me it is probably the best thing she ever did.

Peter Gabriel does a great cover as well.......this is a good live version.......


King Crimson does a great version of Heroes as well. I don't know if it qualifies as a cover or not, since Fripp played the guitars on the original Bowie version.



This was outstanding! Thank you.

I liked the Peter Gabriel version too but that version posted earlier and the Bowie one...I don't know. The approach seems to be more of a dying man's lament whereas the Wallflowers and King Crimson versions just seem more..hopeful. Feels better to me as a hopeful song I guess.

Of course Hotel California has been done by the Eagles themselves multiple ways including the acoustic version in the Hell Froze Over your.

But the Gipsy Kings flamenco cover from the Big Lebowski is amazing.
