The Tin Cup thread got me to thinking about Costner. I don't think there's been anyone in more sports movies than him. Can anyone beat him? Maybe De Niro in mob movies?

If I had to guess, I'd pick Christopher Lee in horror movies.

I think it's gotta be after 1960 or 1970, otherwise it's just a bunch of westerns.

Samuel L Jackson has to be on the list for some genre, I think he's behind Stan Lee for appearing in the most movies ever. Might be ahead of him now.

For a hot second there, Liam Neeson in action thrillers as well. Dude basically was that genre for a while.

According to Wikipedia, Caine has been in 130 movies. Lee has been in 244.
