I've altered the format from 4 groups over 48 hours to 2 groups over 24 hours to save myself a little aggravation on sheer # of youtube links to chase or copy/paste every 48 hours.

Starting this afternoon, I'll select 2 groups of 4 movies with a random # generator.
I'll post the groups and the links to each one's 3 tracks on a new thread for the contest.You'll presumably listen and vote for your favorite in each group.
The voting window will be 24 hours.
Top 32 soundtracks advance and then it's 1 on 1 matchups.

Vangelis' score for Blade Runner be added? I quickly went through the nomination thread and did not see it. I really was going to added last night but had a far too early wake up call this morning. You can even take any of the three I suggested assuming they made the cut. I prefer you leave out Patton since I really enjoy Ennio Morricone scores.

Everyone is on equal footing here. My individual knowledge in this field is tiny - I've probably seen 2/3rds of the movies but couldn't say anything about the soundtracks outside of Star Wars, LOTR, Gladiator, and a handful of others. I don't want to sour the competition with personal bias in a departure from almost every other contest I've done

Your group winners and the first two automatic qualifiers for the big show are:

When we get all the way through the Group round I'll post the percentages for everything, but I'd like to keep those close to the vest for now to enjoy watching the bracket fill itself out before the grand reveal. I will update the top 4 seeds daily once there are 4 group winners, which will be the case this time tomorrow.

For now, if the bracket started today, Batman would be #1 overall and Dances with Wolves #2.
