Wanted to see what others enjoyed playing. My favorite song to play on guitar is "Where Is My Mind?" By the Pixies.

Cold Shot (SRV)
Tush (ZZ Top)

Went through a long period where I didn't have time to play guitar due to kids, job, etc. I had played those two so many times that it only took a little work to get back up to speed.

Piano - don't stop believing just cause it keeps my chops up on piano which I don't play often. It usually takes me about 5 minutes to get it fluid.

Drums - Man it's all over the place. Master of puppets, ghost of perdition by Opeth, or that whole album really, any number of tool, muse or old in flames songs.

Bass guitar - ramble on or schism or higher ground, RHCP version.

Electric Guitar - lately any number of type o negative songs since I recently tuned one my guitars to B standard and I'm a natural baritone so they are fun to sing, but over long term, any number of Metallica songs or 2000's Opeth riffs.

Acoustic guitar - Coil by Opeth. Such a beautiful chorus in that song that sounds epic on my Taylor and it's just fun to play. Runner up, intro to battery.

I got my kids little 1/2 size guitars at like age 2, and one sits by the couch so often I'm playing that one!

My sons, both teens, have been playing multiple instruments long enough that they're my rhythm section (bass and drum) when I need a warm up before a gig with my main band. My strategy to teach them was simple. I always told them to stay away from my guitars under any and all circumstances. Forbidden fruit, oldest trick in (literally) the Book.

Fave songs: on guitar, any three chord rock song that I can play competently after 8 beers. But if you need a specific song then Hotel California, which I've played long enough that I'm okay with it breaking the 3 chord rule.

Piano: Linus and Lucy.

Only instrument I have is my kids' electric piano, and I cannot really play, but I can jam out a lot of the "two finger" synth riffs from 80's dance music, like:

Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode
Close to Me - The Cure
The Promise - When in Rome
Don't Change - INXS

As for improvised instruments:

Every time something rubs together and makes a noise I hammer out the opening scratches to Herbie Hancock's Rockit

Every time I tap a wooden spoon on a pan to clear it it is Hullabaloo Caneck Caneck

Get a lot of steering wheel hi-hat and snare riffs, favorites are U2's Pride and I will Follow

Haven't played trumpet in 30+ years, but it was all Chuck all the time back then.

On drums obviously, depending on the day and the mood:

Frankenstien (Gregg Bissonette version)

Tom Sawyer

Radar love

Changing times (Nazareth, incredibly easy, just like to hit those two flams in the song...fun)

Yeah, I already know I am old. Still have fun though.
