Shows that actually had a GOOD ending?

The Wire
The ending montage was great. The finale as a whole wasn't, mainly because Season 5 was such a disappointment. The entire fake serial killer bit was terrible.

The flu episode of p&r is among my favorite episodes of any show. Chris and Ben made that show so much better.

Melrose Place -- cheesy over the top ending played out to SemiSonic's "Closing Time" was perfect I thought.

The Shield had the greatest ending of anything I've ever seen.

I think I watched that ending montage like 100 times.

When you turned out the lights.
And walked out that door.
That's when I said to myself, what did I come here for.
Did you have a good time, drinking whiskey and rhyme
Or did you want to be Bonnie and Clyde.

Were you out of your mind?
Were you out of your head?
Who did you think I would be?
Well you got me instead.

You think there's some connection, that i MIGHT BE YOUR REFLECTION, but no.

But it seems such a long time ago.

I can be loyal, and I can be true
But that is for someone else, and that can never be you

You think its predetermined, but baby your learning way too slow

But is seems such a long time ago

He can see things that you'll never see
He's three times the man you'll ever know how to be
I'll do anything he wants, and I;ll go anywhere he wants me to go.

But it seems such a long time ago.

So, the last season of New Radio without Phil sucked major, major balls. You can forgive the show, because, I mean, they lost Phil.

But, They did such a great job at season finales. Every one was dynamite.

I also like the end of the Wonder Years.

Also thought that Cosby had a good ending.

Mad men, that ketchup-bottle smile at the end was perfect.

Nerdy one, but Quantum Leap had a satisfying ending. That dance with Al's first wife at the end was sappy but great.

Dollhouse ending I thought was great.

I'm astonished that nobody has mentioned the surreal twist ending of St. Elsewhere ...

https://www.vulture.com/2018/05/the-st-elsewhere-finale-at-30.html

Then again, that was 31 years ago and I doubt that many people under age 50 remember it ... but it was quite the sensation at the time ...

Cuz it was widely panned and considered to be terrible - still is by most.

I mean it may have some fans I don't know but it shows up on every list of bad or at least very divisive TV endings.

Literally just finished The Americans. Kind of feeling drained. Great ending to a stressful last season. Have to put that whole series and ending near / at the top of my list. (never watched a lot of other highly ranked ones on this thread.)

Liked BSG ending as well. Took me a long time to get over my childhood memories and give that remake a try, but liked it once I did.

It ended with a conviction so that was good.

So even though it's not officially the last episode, the episode that was written to be the series finale of king of the hill is amazing. It's the one where Bobby is on the meat judging team and it ends with he and hank grilling steaks together.
