Did he ever say what venue it was at? You could crosscheck the dates of the two tours

I can't remember where he said it was, but I'm sure would have been here in Texas. Haven't talked to him in a year or so but next time I see him I'll ask him.
I do remember Van Halen opening for Black Sabbath and they came to Houston and played Sam Houston Coliseum. (78) I didn't go but some folks at school did. I remember my pals concert tee shirt on that one.
I saw Van Halen at the Houston Summit Sept 23, 1982, just a few weeks before this video. Sat on the floor and it was pretty wild if i recall. After the Fire opened up for them and were booed off the stage. I remember someone threw a trash ball and hit the lead singer square in the chest. They walked off to a chorus of boos. I do remember the the build up for Van Halen coming on stage was awesome. They started pumping Led Zeppelin whole lotta love through the sound system. Crowd went crazy. I don't remember the midget but I do recall DLR downing a bottle of JD on stage and picking up joints thrown on stage and smoking them.
I remember at some point looking around on the floor and seeing a good 30 people passed out around me. I couldn't hear for a few days afterwards. I had the concert tee-shirt but lost it over time. It had a Lion on it. (see below). Funny that Diver Down was out by then, but they weren't really promoting it with merchandise.

In 1982 the band appeared on Swap Shop and toured with ELO (Pete King filled for Bev Bevan after he was taken ill), Queen and Van Halen on a fifty-one date tour of America in ninety-nine days. Half way through the tour CBS heard the demo tracks the band had recorded for a new album and requested they return to start in the recording studio.
