lebron won't have the appeal that Jordan did. Jordan had a cartoon.

It's a kids movie that doesn't hold up now that I'm older.

Kobe would have been a better casting choice.
I agree that this will be very successful but I doubt it will be as universally loved as the original. Unfortunately what used to help unite us, sports, has been infiltrated by politics.

Bill Murray cameo is all but guaranteed.
Not saying sports aren't awesome. I was more alluding to the fact that Jordan was loved by people on all sides of the political spectrum, Lebron not so much.

I'm sure the sequel will get plent of pub. But I don't think it matches the first.
Watched the first one with my son a couple weeks ago....it is sooooooooo baaaaadddd. Its one of the worst produced, acted, and written movies ive ever seen.
I remember when it came out but a second viewing reminds one of how bad it really was. I have zero doubt this new version will step over the bar that was essentially set on the ground by Jordan's version.

nah, not even close. Bron has huge draw across the current NBA landscape, is the only argument as the GOAT with Jordan and kids all over love him. 10 years ago and I'd agree Kobe would have been perfect at the time.

Yep. A little different when it's a half-assed production group and director who had only done commercial shorts just puts together a pure money maker with no effort based on the shoulders of Michael Jordan & Bugs Bunny versus the dude who just set the world on fire with Black Panther behind this one.
Will have much better production value at the very least. Hopefully they keep it light and fun and Bron can do just enough acting to make it serviceable. But there's zero doubt in my mind this will be a huge hit because it will.
