An earlier report stated IX has the longest script in the saga. That doesn't necessarily equate to longest movie, but I doubt it is going to be on the shorter side.

Curious where you read that? Not doubting you, I just hadn't seen that info and I'd like to read it in context.

I was literally just looking up the Abrams scripts I have and gauging the various page counts...

134 = Superman (First Draft)
124 = Superman (Later Draft)
118 = Armageddon
120 = Super 8
110 = Star Wars: The Force Awakens

One page equals one minute of screen time, and usually anything over 120 pages is considered fairly substantial, even though that amounts to only a two-hour movie. But it's also not super accurate, as The Force Awakens should only be 1:50 based on page count, but the final product is 2:15.

I believe I heard it on the Making Star Wars podcast. I'm not sure what their source was on the information.

Just so everyone's aware, here's the tentative/likely schedule from here on out...

JULY 18-21, 2019 - COMIC-CON / AUGUST 23-25, 2019 - D23 - Disney usually skips Comic-Con when it's the same year as D23 (which is every other August), but The Rise of Skywalker is rumored to have a panel at Comic-Con this year, due to the fact that Disney apparently wants to save The Mandalorian exclusively for D23. Either way, between July 18 and August 25, again, I would expect some kind of TROS teaser poster, along with the standard behind-the-scenes featurette, which is always pretty cool and has released in June/July in years past.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 - When TROS toys, tie-in books/comics, etc. officially start to drop.

OCTOBER 2019 - Full trailer released, almost certainly on a Monday during the first half of the month, same as the full trailers for the past two saga movies. The final poster usually isn't far behind, if not the same day.

NOVEMBER 2019 - TV spots start airing.

DECEMBER 16, 2019 - Likely official premiere date / first reactions (that Monday, same as the past two saga movies).

DECEMBER 20, 2019 - Official release date.

... and sure, we could get random official bits here and there, before/between these dates, but I'd be shocked if they weren't tied to these general time frames.

I think I'm going to take the day off December 20th if I can get the whole family together + my dad to go.

I remember them taking me out of school early for TPM opening day. Would be a nice way to finish full circle with my dad and young boys

I'm taking half the week off, flying to Houston, marathoning the whole saga, and then watching it opening night with some buddies I went to Celebration with.

Clearly we are taking this pretty seriously.
